I am now on my second Mk3 Fiesta.
My first one was a 1.0 Bonus. It was very basic. Ford must have removed almost everything of value. I supose the reason it was called bonus is because the left the engine in place. It was a painfully slow car, and I am still surprised it made it to north wales (all those long steep hills). After all the hassles I still loved it, and was very sad to see it go.

So....

Onto the second Fiesta which is a 1.4 Ghia. All I can say is its amazing what a few cc's can do to a car! and having all those little extras that the ghia spec has makes all the difference to the interior. Its my little road ripper and I love it.

i have just purchased an e reg xr2 for £550 the best thing about this car is it is totally standard with original stereo and aerial with a fully documented 43000 miles on the clock. i would like to keep original as possible except for uprating the engine i was thinkin of gas flowin the head put race cams in with a decent exhaust but i am not sure who to go to to get the job done so if anyone knows a reputable garage in the berkshire area i would be [Log in to view email]

I have a Fiesta RS Turbo, J plate in Red. I've had it for a few months and replaced so much, it's nearly new!
Its had a reconditioned engine(low compressioned) gearbox, clutch, and various other bits. It has rust in all the places you would look for it ! However, still seems to look and drive very well. It has loads of mods, and i would suggest to anyone buying one... be very careful, there are some really bad one's out there. Luckily mine is not too bad, and by the time i've finished with it, will be in A1 condition! I have 1 small problem. Can anyone help? The fan doesn't come on, however it is not the sender unit for sensor, it has something to do with the fuse box. The relay is ok, so must be inside. Does anyone have any idea how much they go for? Thanks!!

I own a 1980 MK1 which is my little baby, it's got the XR2 lights, late big bumpers, XR2 kit blended on, resprayed in a lovely mid blue pearl 15" RL7s, uprated suspension and a lairy rally spec 1700 X-flow on twin 40s. It goes like stink, gets admiring looks and comments everywhere I go and, like everyone else has said it handles amazingly!! Some people take the piss but they're an awesome little car, a Saxo VTR won't touch a played-with one! They're the best looking and most raw XR of the lot, and I wouldn't change mine for anything!

Hi

I own a brilliant car its a 1.0 popular plus mk3 in burgundy red

its genuine mileage is 29101 miles it has no rust and the paintwork is spotless it has a 4 speed gearbox ok it is loud at 70 but not loud enough to be angry it doesent leak or smoke,

it is very economical does about 45-50mpg on safeway fuel

it is not slow like some people make out is 70 in 3rd gear slow or 90 in 4th slow and iam not exagerating though i got that figure from a 3 mile duel carriegway near by,

the only problem is the suspension maybe getting old and worn but its cheap to repair

4 shocks and 4 springs is £70 for 8 items thats mega low. and they are ford branded products.

great car highly reccomended if you find a low mileage car like i did at cutts of campden in gloucestershire great car dealer.

I own a 1.3 1995 M reg LX Fiesta 77000. Its an Automatic and has a CVT box fitted (Replaced) which is quick compared to conventional autos that use gears. The car is the colour of an aubergine which is nice. Sometimes I find she has better days than others and on days like these she is great to drive.

I dont like the brakes on this car although the Gezza at the MOT garage said there fine. Not really going to complain at that.

Im just 16 so i drive my 1.0 pop plus around my garden and round big car parks. it is bright gay blue which ruins my street cred. it is horribly slow, leakin oil (maybe down to blown head gasket?), quite a bit of rust on arches and filler cap n lower metal bits under bumpers but nothin serious just a job for sandin down, also rust at bottom corner of windscreen which apparently i have to use sum special filler stuff. anyway, after a few wheelspins down the drive (yes it can actually break the grip of its 155/13 tires) the clutch squeeks a bit. the body roll is horrendous and it doesnt help that the seats have no side support whatsoever. it wud probably lose to every car i know of apart from a citroen 2CV. but then again i imagine the insurance is cheap as possible, and parts are easy to come by. wanna get it lowered, and upgrade the joke that they call the stereo (doesnt even have a tape player!!!). i got it free off my nana so i cant grumble.

i absoutly love my mk2, its a 1986 with 105000 on the clock, and only broken down once and that was because the central hole in the dis cap rotted away, and the ht lead from the coil fell out. incredable on fuel, and i laugh at boy racers and bmw's (fucking hate bmw driver) that race me, cuz for the amount of fuel they are using. hope i didnt offend any1, just though id leave a message on here, cuz i like the mk2.

Ive got a 1.0 H 1990 bonus, what a car! Takes a hell of a long time to hit 60, just about hits 70 - painful unless u'v got the radio up loud and the window down a bit...if you know wat i mean! Good on petrol, bad on oil, dry - bad on hills, unless going down them, steering a bit rattly, dont nuthin to it really - keeps going, starts every time, been to london in it, northampton, milton keynes - doing a booze cruise to calais in july - from manchester - so i trust it! Definately good value for £ - mine was £560 and good looking mk 3 - specially with the personalised plate on it (worth as much as car) - recomment it definately! Its noisy, its slow, its cheap, its fun - but its a ford!

Ive had a mk2 fiesta for three years and its been re-sprayed in a very light blueish grey- i think it was origionally a light yellow- but i need to find the paint code for the blue/greyish colour- i have seen a few 83' to 89' mk2's in this color but cannot seem to locate the colour- can anyone help me with any of the paint codes or even the colour- as im really stuck!!!!!! Its done 49.000 miles and i have discovered that this mileage is origional!!!!!!!! it seems quicker than a 1.1 ghia as i can completley stuff junk Vauxhall nova SR's into the ground. ANY ADVICE BY E-MAIL WOULD BE APPRECIATED. i live in the WEST MIDLANDS- if anyone is interested in buying my vehicle plz ring 07905 485 301 and ask for SI..................................THANX!

I am sadly breaking our trusty 1980 1.3GL. An outstanding motor that was greatky improved with the addition of pepperpots, a K&N and Aldo electronic ignition. I wanted to modify her more, but I was running out of good metal to work with.
I am taking every single good bit of her, and will shortly begin looking for a minter. The Mk2 Astra that replaced the fester is no where near as much fun. I will always own a Fiesta MK1
