Recently bought an E Reg Fiesta L 1.1, done a genuine 23,000 miles! Motor is sweet, no rust, no rattles, steers well. Price? Paid £150... now if that's not the bargin of the century, what is!!!
Can anyone tell me though how large is the fuel tank? No manual with car, but on average it takes about 30 litres to fill, I'd appreciate a more accurate reading if possible.

Quality little run-around. Can look great with a few little mods as well. As long as it's got a good battery, it will give you no trouble. I love them!

how can anyone complain with the mk2 xr2.its fast its cheap and if anything goes wrong with it,parts are cheap as chips.a great car to race, blows anything this side of 2litre 16v apart.all ive done to mine is lower and stiffened it,put strut braces on it,roll cage, bucket seats, sump, tank guard.sportex exhaust system and manifold,k&n,rally cam kit and pulley, polly bushes.ive rallied it 2 times, came 1st in both comps.the car just shifts, ive had 130mph on a straight.11 out of 10.

its allright u get used to driving a granny car once uv got one myns a 1.1 injection fiesta freestyle pretty basic its go seats and a steering wheel. goes allright if havnt got a car load of fat mates, but when u do its slower to accelerate than a sunlife mobility scooter. all in all no matter how much u talk about moding it an that " yeh ill whack some 17"s on it and underlight it yeh" but na its still gonna be ur grans ex-car dont bother wait till uv got something thatll shift.

I HAVE HAD 20 FESTERS NOW AND THE XR2 IS THE BEST I HAVE TUNED AND RACED THEM.I HAVE 5 AT PRESENT.THEY ARE CHEAP FAST AND GREAT VALUE I HAVE A 1.8 NOVA THAT DOES 147MPH.WITH ALL THE FANCY SUSPENSION AND OTHER MODS ITS NOT AS GOOD AT HANDLING OR AS FAST THE FIESTA ON THE ROAD OR TRACK.THE FIESTA MK2 XR2 IS THE BEST CAR I HAVE OWNED YET.EXCEPT S2 RS TURBO.I WOULD RECOMEND THIS CAR TO ANYONE WHO COMES INTO MOTORSPORT OR WANTS SOMTHING TO RUN AROUND IN.10 OUT OF 10.
My fiesta was giving to me by my uncle's coworker and its been hard trying to find parts. My car has no driver side door handle and so I have to open it trough the bat window, but no problem there. If somebody wants a project car I would diffently recommend this one.

Why does everyone say get a 1.4s instead of a XR2?? its crazy i have an XR2i that ripped a clio172 to bits and how many 1.4s can do that?? your answer is NONE so i just think people are scared of its power. p.s (i would'nt even bother trying it with a 1.4s because the clio172 would be at 100 mph even before u take off )

I bought my '89 1400S for £50 quid that a local garage had taken as a part x with a failed MOT and couldn't shift. It sat there for about a year and a half then I got my mits on it, and with a bit of welding and rust treatment it was back on the road. Since then it hasn't let me down once - nor my brother, who half-inched it after his 205GTI (which cost him nearly 20 times what the festa did) blew up. OK, they rust, they're not fuel efficient and they feel as well put together as a Mechano set, but they are cheap and fun. I agree with the comments below, XR2s are not worth the aggro, the 1400S is nearly as quick but much cheaper to insure and without any of the scumbag boyracer stigma. Find a good one and you're laughing!

Ihave had 2 mk1's in the past 2 years. Number 1 was a nice beige 1.1L y-reg brown interior 72k rusty wheelarches and boot floor (well, surprize). A good runner but with tempermental carb Bought for £35 YES £35 and with 3 months mot always reliable and resonably happy and quiet on motorway at between 70-85mph (i do about 300 mile a week on the M5) got through the mot for nearly £200 and kept it until november 02 and sold if for £275 (made a profit) Now i have a 81 x-reg 1.1 GHIA again with brown interior but this time the car cost me a bit more ( £450 ) but has not a single trace of rust 3 owners and history back to 87' 89k miles and in very good condition and colour is gorgeous shiny metalic bronze. Again very reliable and fun to drive, comfortable (300 mile a week motorway missions remember?), sooooo economical (cruuising at 75mph i return between 35 & 42 mpg), cheap parts and cheap tax and good looking design. What more could you want?

my mk1 is a fun drive although old father time is catching up on her, theres always a niggling problem that needs sorting out. If I had the cash I would fix her up good, but I dream for a modern car with a fifth gear (or a mint XR2).
