After first putting a deposit down on a freelander 1.8 petrol, then looking at this website i decided NOT to buy a freelander, and as luck would have it a Rav 4 came in on the same day so i just transferred the deposit. I love this car, it is quick, loads of room and is more efficient than my old (but reliable) rover 416! Even my mother likes it!!

Rav 4 GX petrol
Owned for 1 month.
Like the driving position of my RAV4 and all the twiddly bits are great - SAT NAT is easy to use. The new shape is attractive - get loads of looks on the road (yes I am blonde!!!) Am disappointed with the 'flat' spot I experience when say, coming out of a roundabout in 2nd - my old RAV4 had no flat spots and was always 'like a rocket'. Apparently the 'flat' spot is due to the VVT engine????
VVTI-VX 5door (Nov 2000):- Higher gearing would improve fuel economy. Variable intermitent screen wipe sorely missed. Screen wash bottle too small. No glovebox light and rear interior light set too high for night access to area under parcel shelf (requires removal of shelf). Multi function stereo/SatNav takes some getting used to. SatNav proves useful on occaisions. Stereo good. Instant/average economy readings can be frightening. Rear door opening to full 90 degrees would improve load carrying ability (DIY conversion - fit USA model door strap). All small niggles - the whole family love the RAV4!
