hey, i'm looking for a second hand yamaha DT 125 for my first bike.. i was wondering if it is good for pillion passengers? and if anyone can direct me to a good buy or knows of any good sites E-mail me... cheers.
havin problems with my kids dtr 125 sparkplugs are failing under compression after about 4 hrs use any help greatly appreciated as i bought it for there christmas box (put a new plug in it will kik first time but fail and need a new plug after 4 hrs use )
My DTR is the ultimate machine. its got front and back DEP pipe, electronic servo, skirted piston,ported exhaust chamber, carbon reed valves, jetted carb,drilled air box,uprated oil pump, needle lifted up to top on t cable,it wheelies in 3rd gear with only power.it does 95 flat out. ive recently purchased new tyres. many thanx to phil in scotland, i couldnt have done it without him. he had a nice f reg dtr until a few months ago, that was also a quick bike. I have one of the fastest DTR 125s around, its the dogs bo##ocks and its reliable. the bike is in spain with me just now. im John Balfour by the way, Zeke Balfours son ,as in Balfour Bike Breakers. any way my dt does 95 mph and its reliable. just a mention for Phil the dude, u know who u r. yeeehaaa
Ive just got a dtr 125 its a m reg and kicks ass i had a dt 80 b4 which was fun but the 125 is so much faster. I paid 1000 pounds 4 it which i thought was a bit pricy but the bike is mint. I dont no wot the bloke has done 2 the bike b4 but it is runing ai 24 bhp and has a top end of 92 mph. He hasnt put a big bore on if thats wot u was thinking. i live in hertfordshire if u live nr harlow and wanna sup ur bike up then cheak a bike shop called HPS motocycles what a fun bike dts are.
I have had my 2000 yamaha DT125R for a month, and i am in love with it. It is quick and can wheelie like no other bike. It has a full DEP system. But I want to increase the bhp, i think it is only running at 18bph, but since i put the DEP exhaust system on i dont know what it would be running at now. What else can I do to my dt???? I.e. reeds or air filter, some 1 help.
I brought a dt125r about a month ago onlyt find i need a new,exhaust,air box,and a new back knobly tyre were im only 15 i dont know were to look or find these second hand parts as they are to expensive to buy brand new and i cant put a k,n air filter on beacause there to big.so if you know were or whom i can find these parts please give me a call on tel:023 8044 0790 mob:07754 655652 thank you im located in southampton
im sorry to say this but!! the dt is not expensiv to run and i de-restricted mine for free. i cut it open and remove#d the plate and my old man took it in to work and welded it back to geather it is a mint bike and also i think it carnt be expekted to do much els with my 27 bhp e-mail me if you need info or help at dam_mad_david@hotmail i will help you!!!
My 1990 DT125R is Great and so powerful though it really drinks up fuel and will only do around 60 miles on a full tank of fuel- anyone else with the same prob, or have an idea what it could be?
I have just bought a dtr 125 4 £300 not road legal anymore though. It needs de-restricting if any one knows how to do it and where to get the parts from cheap please will you let me know many thanks.
dts are mint.mines a 92model. it needs a new tyre, it just wont grip in the mud. have bought new plastics and a full dep system. not yet put them on. it does 80, bottom end is crap tho. gotta get a servo. but i cant complain about the kick at 6000rpm. it wheelies off that in third. subframe is a touch bent, the last owner must have lot it at about 50 on tarmac! feel sorry 4 u lot paying 200+ for dep systems, i get stuff trade price (£125=front and back pipes) there r some mint green lanes around where i live (bristol) and apart from the lack of power below 6grand and the tendancy to be perminantly wheelspinning, my deet loves them. il post another review when i work out how to wheelie in fourth and outrun my mates drz400e!
i got my DT125 in march 2002 brand new on 02 plate. since it has been great no problems apart from the fact if you want to derestrict them you have to fork out £250 for a new exhaust and labour an dalso it invalidates the warrenty. Any quries talk 2 me at [Log in to view email]
Bought a 1991 DT 125r last month, goes well but at the moment i can only have the powervalve wide open or shut off i am looking for a powervalve servo kit which opens or shuts the powervalve to suit the engine speed. i cant find one anywhere can anyone help?
i have a dt125r. At first i was happy with the response and the look of the bike. It got stolen and eversince then its well.... its gone naff the engineer said its been burned so i was looking for a qick fix. I could do with the powervalve turning round but dont know how to do it. its a Y 2000 any help would be acepted thanks Dave :)

Help! my 2001 dt125r (import) gets used for serious green laning every week,keeps up with all the larger stuff easily and amazes evrybody until it rains then it starts missing so bad that i have to return home,strange coz i can go through puddles up to the air intake no problem,it did cut out a few times when i put it in gear,thought it might be the neutral relay or side stand switch,any ideas ???
