i had my scorpio for 3 yrs h reg saloon 2.9, and i love it, its comforatble has many toys ac electrics etc, but above all its smooth responsive power excellent handling on the motorways.
it has given me one problem which was the cv joint and also the powersteering pipe which was expensive for what it was but worth it as the pump could have gone too.

It´s one of the best car´s Ford ever made. Until this day they haven´t come up with anything even close to the Ford Granada. 1985 is the last year Ford ever made a real car !

Bought for 1700 pounds 5 years ago 2.41
ghia auto. on F plate. Hatch with spoiler that gives the back end a better look. Initially it took a bit of sorting out; Back suspension rebuild, new radiator, and window rubbers. It also used to cut out in a water splash and it took ages to sort that one, its was cured by a good clean and polish of the top of the coil and fitting a correct HT lead. It has to be one with a kink, not straight as this directs water onto the top of the coil, and it appears someone had fitted it by mistake. Incidently part for the car are cheaper at the main dealer here, than at the motorist discount shops, but what I have bought for it have generally been very reasonably priced.
However, since the initial sort out it has been very reliable and I have grown to like the car. I always feel very safe in it. What I do not like is the low profile wide alloy wheels it came fitted with, they hit every bump in the road and spoil the smoothness of the ride, but despite this they tyres are only about 34 quid and I have only bought one set in the 5 years. There is now about 120K on the clock and I can honestly say I have never had to put oil in the car, between her annual oil changes. I run her on 4 star LRP and am lucky to get more than 22MPG all in. The nice thing is that everything still works eg cruise, computer etc and I think I could easily get another 5 years out of her, if I was prepared to set aboard the small rusty edges that are just beginning to show. But I have never been one to molly coddle cars. I usually say to people you don't need a seat belt the kids have been eating sweets so you just stick to the seats. I have had people wipe their feet before getting out of the Granada, and someone once broke into her and hovered it out. But that is another story. Anyway you could probably pick up similar for less than 300quid and get 4 years out of it. That engine will go to the moon and back if treated correctly.

I've still got two Mk2 Granadas. A 2.8 injection, and a 2.8i Ghia X. Love 'em both to bits.. just restored the 2.8 injection, but I can't get an o/s/f wing anywhere, the Ghia X has a perfect one, but the car's too good to break. Anyone got an o/s/f wing? HELP

Great, roomy car nearly for the price of a Corolla. You really should get yours with either of the 2.9 engines, the 2.0 is slightly underpowered for such a large car.
