We have owned our Rapido Confortmatic Fold-Up Caravan for almost 20 years. On the road, little beats it for ease of access into small villages and small roads. It has been pulled over the Pyrenees with a Fiat Panda and along rural tracks for km after km throughout rural Spain and France. The external fridge, makes picnicking on the road with a cool box, a thing of the past. Whilst on site, we use a small fridge inside too. Never had a drop of rain enter, even during the most violent of storms. Can be folded down on site when the exterior is wet and the rain just runs off as you pull away ! Spacious inside with a big table to use when needed. Sink, 2 gas rings and power for the inevitable microwave and hot/cold fan. Good seating, plus a big settee to watch the TV from ! Can be put up on very uneven ground and even parked on its side when not in use at home. The aluminium sides make it warm on those cold nights when compared with a trailer tent. A good 4'6'' dble bed and another/or two bunks, make it ideal for a young family. At under 500kg, easy to park and no wind resistence on the road, it is a very hard way to beat for travelling and site seeing. Above all, it is easy to store in a small garage, enabling its condition to maintained as new.
BOUGHT RAPIDO AFTER TRAILER TENT,AND IT WAS LIKE HEAVEN. DEAD EASY TO PUT UP, NEVER LEAKS EVEN IN THE WORST STORMS.GREAT TO TOW. PEOPLE ARE AMAZED WHEN YOU ERECT IT IN 10 MINIUTES.I JUST LOVE IT. AND PULL WITH MY TIGRA. I HAVE HAD MY RAPIDO FOR 10 YEARS WITH AWNING. I WOULD NEVER SELL IT AND I HAVE HAD MANY OFFERS.
Ours is a 1983 model, weird looking, but spacious when unfolded. Folds to half it's size - brilliant to tow. The folding is very clever mechanically, and only takes around 15min to get a roof over your heads. It's French. It's obsolete. It's great!

The best of the folding caravans but looks dated. If the site is level I can have a roof over my head in less than 5 mins. Have towed across France with a boat on top of the folded van.
