I was looking for a decent cheap MPV to transport 5 in our family and for the money this Tacuma is brilliant. The depreciation in the firest few years is savage with these Korean cars so I went for a 3 year old, 1.6 SX model with only 23k on the clock and bagged it for £3400 which was amazing value. If I changed the bonnet badge to Renault and the rear one to Magane Scenic it would cost another £2k on top. Shop about and a delivery mileage only example can be had for less than £9k. This car will never set the world on fire and the 2.0 litre version will get a real kicking when the £400+ tax band come in 2010 due to high emisions. The performace is only satisfactory and the petrol consumption (no diesel version available) is not brilliant at 35mpg but thats about all the down sides. Afterall, all the money saved on the purchase over a Renault or Citroen would buy an awful lot of fuel. The styling is quirky which I quite like but some hate. The up side is comfort, 5 good seats with 3 proper diagonal seat belts in the rear on later models (no silly lap straps thank God but check earlier ones had a centre lap strap pre 2005 I think), good load space, spacious well designed interior for a family and value, value value. I have has no reliablilty problems and have not heard of any inherient faults. The 1.6 petrol emits 191g/Km which is towards the high end but not at the Range Rover levels and hence not too bad for road tax.

USED CAR VALUE. Interior usefulness. Good rear seat belts.
Average fuel consumption. 2.0 version CO2 emisions are high.

DAEWOO'S BEST EFFORT TO DATE
HAVING OWNED TWO PREVIOUS I HAVE EVERY FAITH IN DAEWOO AND NOW THAT THEY ARE PART OF G.M THINGS WILL ONLY GET BETTER
THE CAR IS A GOOD DRIVE LOVES THE BACK ROADS!!
VERY COMFORTABLE GOOD SPACE
SOME PEOPLE DON'T LIKE THE STYLING
BUT I THINK IT IS NO BAD BIT OF ALRIGHT ACTUALLY

ONLY REAL PROBLEM I HAD WAS THE DASHBOARD WAS RATTLING ON EVERY JOURNEY AND WAS VERY ANNOYING
HOWEVER I HAVE EVENTUALLY GOT DAEWOO TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD AND TOUCH WOOD NO MORE PROBLEMS
ALLOY WHEELS ALSO STARTED TO BLISTER
DAEWOO REPLACED THOSE ASWELL

WHAT CAN I SAY
