I've had my is 200 sport for 3 1/2 years now bought when it was 3 years old and have been very impressed with it only just replaced battery and rear shock (when first got it) but was under warranty apart from that spot on overall pleasure to own and drive very classy everone has always commented on it , if i had to fault it i would say needs more low down power but you can wind it up!

Owned for 3 years.
Have owned my W reg 200is se for 2 years, before this it belonged to my brother. It has now covered 70,000 miles & still drives as new. The interior & exterior are still excellent & even the driver's seat shows no wear. The engine is quiet & uses no oil. The only non-service parts it has needed apart from tyres & brake pads, are a pair of ball joints (£110) & new alloys due to corrosion & replaced free with no quibbles. The dealers are very helpful & collect the car for servicing free of charge despite a £30 mile round trip. Like all owners I have spoken to - this car brings a smile every time I drive it. It is a different class to almost anything else & has an exclusivity factor that sets it apart. I like to drive quickly & although a little slow from the lights - once you get into second - it can fly. Rarely does another car keep up if I am trying, & on the motorway it eats miles. I have just done a 350 mile trip up the A1 in 5.5 hours & got out feeling like I had driven 3 miles. Loads of gadgets that are not even standard on new cars from other makers. Quality throughout. I have owned & driven lots of other cars & can only think of one that I would prefer - the latest model. Until I can afford one I will keep on smiling!

CLIMATE CONTROL IS BRILL, HI-FI AMAZING A FRIEND WHO HAS HAD A BRAND NEW ALFA G T IS FEELING SHORT CHANGED WITH HIS SYSTEM1 AND HAS HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH THE CAR GEARBOX, WINDOWS DONT WORK ,WIPERS PACKED UP OH TO BE IN LEXUS AND EVERYONE LOVES THE LOOK OF IT AGAIN ESPECILLY AT NIGHT HAS THAT CERTAIN ROAD PRESENCE WITH THOSE ALLOYS GLINTING !! March 2005 Had an IS 200 SE AUTO for 4 years from 1999. One of the most satisfying cars I have ever owned. Impressive refinement. Legendary lexus reliability.Called the RAC out once and he was shocked to be called to see a Lexus. Flat battery as car had sat unused in winter for 2 months with alarm on. Missed not having a front arm rest. The 5 speed auto on offer in Japan and a Beams engine would have been nice. Considered fitting the super charger but could not justify the cost. Mpg not bad. Nice cruise around town. Lovely on motorway. Good Lexus Audio. Loved the dash, chronograph style and plastics and didn't care what Motoring journos said. Alloys prone to corrossion but got replacements under warranty. Lexus dealers a different kettle of fish from Merc and BMW. Delivered my accessories home at no extra cost. Commendable customer service. Good performer on the motorway. Would definitely consider the 2006 model in a 2.2 diesel as I have since become a convert to the black stuff (derv). Ola Oduwole.
A gorgeous car with high stadard spec if a little light on build quality. Ownership is a painless experience, however the biggest let down is the total lack of torque, allowing our Seat Cordoba TDi to leave it for dead!
Excellent quality but let down slightly with monor niggles such as steering "rumble" which seems to be a fault in the front shocks. Its a head turner with all the toys you would want in a car. However, being a new model it has a few minor irritations which LEXUS will certainly put right. If they boost the BHP to say 200 - it will be a VERY good car.

Excellent refinement! , Very stable on the road with great brakes! Solely for perfectionist! Now if it only came out with that optional supercharger!!

Unloved by the motoring press, for reasons that escape me. Perhaps you need to own it to appreciate it! Puts a smile on my face every time I return to it. Smooth as silk to the red line, with handling and a gearchange to die for. Now if only it had a bit more power low down-----!

Lovely car to drive - smooth and precise. Interior is very comfortable but the dials may put some people off - once you are used to them they are great. Ride quality is excellent and more spacious than you may think. Boot size is nothing special though.

THIS CAR IS CLEARLEY THE BEST CAR OUT IN THE UK. IT HAS EVERYTHING ANY DRIVER WOULD WANT:- NICE ALLOYS, GOOD TAKEOFF SPEED,FAST, LOADS OF EXTRAS, AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL VALUE FOR MONEY.
Superb chasis, corners as though on rails. Power slightly disappointing but quicker on the road than the performance figures suggest. Parts - what parts ? Overall a very nice car that does what it says on the box.

The power is a bit soft before 4600 rpm but lexus does provide a supercharger for around £6000 which puts the power up to around 240 bhp. Its mind blowing!!!
