Vicks partner, I have owned my 95 escort rs mk 6 for the past 5 years, and to be honest its never let me down, replaced battery a couple of years ago but everything else thats been done ive done for myself, not because ive had to. I replaced the discs and pads for some uprated items, along with shocks and springs, a couple of engine mods, stainless mongoose exhaust, power boost valve, induction kit and modified exhaust manifold set up on a rolling road now pushing out about 166 bhp, not great by todays standards but not bad for a 13 year old escort, just bought a fiesta st and that does not feel as quick as my escort, its better on the twisty stuff though. The engine gets its oil changed regular no matter the mileage, its currently at 64,000, been wanting to sell it for the past couple of years but every time i drive it i still enjoy it so i keep it.
Cheap replacement parts, not a common car, still wears an rs badge.
Thirsty if you drive hard, rear arches suffer from rust if you dont clean the muck out regular, wiring to the coil packs starting to harden and split through heat, causing missfires.

Ive got a 1972 ford escort with NO modifications on it at all, not even the paint. everything is the same from when we bought it 10 years ago. only the battary is different. MY FAVORITE STORY bout it is that i left it in Europe before i moved and when i came back to see it 5 years later, i poped in the battery and just started it. the escy drove like a Beemer. i love it. anyways i was wondering how much it would be worth/??? help?

I am currently running Black Diamond Grooved Disks and EBC green stuff pads on my car which is an, Escort Mk6 1.8 16v. I have had these on now for a little over 8 weeks, and there worse than my standard breaks were! The Pads do grip well when cold, but get them up to high Temp and they do nothing at all! The high temp has know caused the 8 week old disks to show hair-line fractures. I am currently attempting to get black diamond to replace them as they shouldn't produce fractures this early on in there life. So be warrned dont expect to much from these raved about disks or pads!
I have owned a Mk 4 Diesel estate for 2 years now and covered over 50k miles in it. It was cheap to buy and os cheap to run and the only thing i have replaced on it is a battery and one heater plug and a clutch. For £300 it has been the best and most reliable car i have ever bought. I know on a G plate it is getting on a bit but i am reluctent to get rid of it.
I have a mk3 with mk4 front end owned it for a year, started off as an XR3i but i have put an rs tubo lump in running at 197bhp with loads of other engine mods,always loved escort cabs since my dad got one when i was 5 and he has had 4 since then, great cars, and the women love them too ;-)
Please change up from 3rd to 4th in your RS and it will run out of gear at 6000rpm & 112 mph - i understand if you fit a 5 speed box the longer 5th allows 120+..

i have recently bought a 1976 2dr 1.2L mark2 escort. it had not been used since 1987 and stored in a garage. once started the only thing that did not work was the horn. how cool is that. it drives like a new car. its amazing. its green, the seats are green, the inside of the doors are vinyl green, the carpets are green, i look like a pea. i love it. it is in perfect condition. no rust, no holes, all original condition. the only thing it needs is a new passinger door. i already own a 1978 mark2 4 dr 1.6 ghia escort. its yellow, the roof is brown, the seats are brown, the carpet is brown, the dashboard is brown. i look like a canary. i love it. people think i'm mad, only a few understand. I LOVE THEM. i've told my fella that he goes before the escorts
i got a Mk4 Eclipse 1.3, reliable cheap to run but the ohv engines rattle pretty bad. buy one though, 151,000 and still going, 1.4 cvh engine so much better though, cant really tell its on and the insurance isnt that much worse. had a 1.4lx, bewst car i ever had until some convertable bmw wrote it off. rich b**tards

hi i own a mk2 escort van , its my second mk2 van , my first mk2 van was fitted with a 2.0 an 4speed box very fast and reliable never had a problem with it . then i fitted a 1.3 in it (dont ask lol)then it got wrote off by a taxi you will see on my site the state it ended up in.... the van i have now is in the prosess of being rebuilt an modded 2.0 pinto 5 speed g/box 28i front struts billys rear shocks 2in single box system , but still needs a lot of work i do hav a site with a lot of pics on it but its not set up properly at the mo but can still be viewed any pics of other vans mk1 or mk2 email them to me and when i get round to sorting it i will stick them on there but it may take a while lol my email is [Log in to view email]

i own a 1981 mk2 4dr rs2000. bought for $1000 standard since then had port and polish head, overbore, balanced, hot cam, 2.5" exauhst battery relocated to boot, twin 45mm webbers and falcon rotors wich aloud bigger brakes and larger variety of wheels. it puts out just over 140kw at the weels. have blown away many v8's. best car ive ever owned by far!!
