titanium,blacked out windows etc,nice
Owned for 3 months.
My car is extremely reliable and functions very well. It has no problem starting - even after a week in bad weather the engine fired first time. Very comfortable to drive and good in town or on long journeys.
this mesg is to franscati t girl and gem 1985 fiestar are reliable and easy to drive very cheep to run and nippy there breaks tend to b not good and they tend to leak abit ov oil and they are really noisy engines.the zetec engines are nicer and smoother. i found my 1.3 was more economincal than the 1.25. the 1.25 is quker thoe i fink it was franscati who wants the zetec s , i jus got a ford puma, i fink there nicer there faster too. what do u fink? they come wiv alot ov extras like traction control and abs etc
I Have just brought a ford fiesta frascati 1.3 8v!! i like it very much was £825!!! It silver and needs a service and other little bits doing to it! Its 1995 and only 39000 miles! I need more info about fords as it is my first car. any ideas what i should do to it? is it cheap on fuel? Thx T
I bought my N reg 1.1 Fiesta Quartz in Jan 07 and have done around 4000 miles in it. I paid £400 for it so knew I was taking a risk.
I liked it because it had an airbag, side impact bars, imboliser, seat belt pretensioners, sunroof and split folding seats. Other than that the car is very basic.
The breaks are effective for city driving but not ideal for high speed driving.
The engine is quite noisy and it dosn't like 15-30 oil, it tends to leak through to the piston rings causing blue smoke. I find use of 15-40 solves this problem.
The car has 104,000 miles on the clock so is quite warn now but it still goes perfectly and starts first time.
Overall yes the engine is warn but it the rattly unit just refuses to die.
I had this little fiesta 1.6v Ghia (Zeta EFi Engine) 94-L reg. Had it for about 5 years, loved the little car never had any problems with it at all- very fast fun little car.

bought e plate xr2 for £20 two years ago, needed wheels+tyres, airbox, rear window, radiator, got all this for £50 or so and used it for trackdays at knockhill, bang for buck great wee car got cheap koni rear shocks+springs and front jamex for peanuts £30 what a difference stuck to track like glue, got two full years out of it before it rotted but loved every session of the trackdays would buy another and translplant 2.0 mondy engine if i could, always started first time every time and took massive abuse.
mk1 fiesta couldnt fault mine .. has been stood for nearly 3 months a bit of fuel and a good thrash and we made it home form the lock uyp on 3 cylinders its a j reg and its very goodcondition for what i was (free) parts are easy to get ... when i have the money that is .. but there ever such a nice car .. ive recently striped out the inside of mine and fitted a cobra bucket seat i have a super sport dash to go into it and some super sport or capri lazer wheels to go on at a later date i would really recoment one of these as a first car! there very simple and easy to use the only thing i dislike about them is the standard wheels ... gar there horrible!
I have a 1994 (L) Fiesta 1.1i and its a great 1st car! Fuel ecomony is good, insurance is cheap and it goes 90mph nicely. The power is a bit on the weak side but is brilliant for quick start offs ( can beat a bmw off the line - but then it flys past). Doesn't like hills either! It's a decent car!!
If anyone has read suzie's-2 fast2furious comment then you'll realise that she doesn't know what she is talking about. Firstly, there is know such thing (unless you strap a turbo on) as a XR2 turbo (Its a RS Turbo as the block is exactly the same!!), Secondly it would beat a 1.6 fiesta.Even an XR2i would beat a 1.6. I have an XR2i in mint condition (no rust not even around the fuel cap). its had new valve stems, stem seals and hydraulic lifters (so it doesnt blue smoke). Its running at 165bhp (yes it is modified), so if you fancy a race bring it on. P.s i'm a girl but at least i know what im talking about. Get reading girl!!!!
This review is getting weirder. Its supposed to be a reivew of a MK2 Fiesta. What the hell has a Fiesta mk2 got to do with a BMW M5? At least comparions with Novas/Corsas etc are in roughly the same ballpark (to use that annoying american phrase). Any tw@ with a fat wallet can go and buy an M5 and drive around beating other cars. I hardly think comparing one to a 15yr old Ford is a fair comparison considering you can get an XR2 for a few hundred quid. You try buying an M5 for 250 quid. Thats about that you BMW drivers pay for a new set of wiper blades FFS! Personally I'll stick to fiestas for now, I'll wait til I retire before I buy an old mans car.
I have a 1.6s xr3 mr3 1989 fiesta. i'm currently modifying it but it's taking a while. thing is i want to buy a bodykit for the car but i don't want to buy an xr2 turbo kit as my car is faster and better and deserves the best (no affence to people who own xr2's, just stating) does anyone know somewhere where they do customs one's or really good kits. and to the person who's fiesta keep's jurking, if you keep it out in the cold its going to be difficult. just put foot onto gas once then start whilst putting a little gas into it. works everytime.
the mk2 XR2 is the best car to ever touch tarmac. I bough tmine for 50 quid, and have serviced it for 50 quid a go ever-since. You find me another car that wont break down for 2 years, eat novas for breakfast and can even give a corsa GSI a run for its money!!!NUFF SAID, TOP MOTOR!!GET ! NOW!!!
Ive had my w Reg 957cc (HC) for a year now it has only broken down once(throttle cable). I inherited it from my aunt with 21000 miles on the clock ive just added another 10000. Its just failed MOT on emmisions, mite b the carb anyone have a spare?07736037153
Um nova, well there all bit passed it unless your barrel scarping. There are some models of which i have driven working at brandshatch..
The true fact is renault did clio's with 3 speed automatics and 1.8 litres @ 128 BHP. The 1 st gear was a real goer as in all 3 speed autos (made famous by the Mustang and other great V8's (not 8 valves). The clio would do 60 with out a change, and hence, no loss of acceleration, unlike manual novas.
I guess the best thing for you all to look out for is the fear ratios. They are put like this 4:12 they refect the amount of engine turns to turns of the wheel. FORD UK are notorious for poor gearboxes, (as well as genrally poor cars, CVH anyone?? LOL!!) cheap cars what do you expect. But still there are one or two good ones, if your changing to often like at 15 or 30 then you are not putting power thru the drive train and hence are not moving foward with engine power.
So if your scraping the bucket, as i know alot of fellow brits are with high taxes and labour govements, keep your eyes out for the good ones.
Also if you a blue smoker, its b/v your piston rings are shot, expect that at 40-50k. Also with all Zetec engines. Its so good to see most brits, as weak as they are with rising taxes and sitting back and not caring, rishing motor costs but not caring. LOL. Are starting to move to the Japanese cars. God must be shining out of is arse on some of ya!!
Owned a 1982 1 litre mk1, one of the best cars to tear up the roads of west ireland. Once kept up with a fairly agressive volvo s80 (god bless that third gear). Have a corolla now, it just doesn't handle as good. Heaps of rust so NCT (MOT) took it of the road. Sob!
I've just bought a ford fiesta 1.6 s , first car , cost me 100 quid, only 18,000 thousand miles on the clock, 1 owner, a man of 96, who bought it when he was 80 2 drive to the shops, gotta say the pull on this compared to new cars i've drivin like the 1.2 corsa and 1.4 clio is sweet, zippy number :) shame about the stereo tho !
[QUOTE]I bought my J reg 1.6S 7 Months ago for £600 and i think its great. It goes brilliantly starts every time and can beat 205 GTI's on country lanes.[END QUOTE]
