have had to part with beloved puma as twins now 9 years old (tall for age too) she was my first car and i loved her to bits you can fix parcel shelf with a few screws if you don't need to remove it boot space good enough for a weeks shopping sadly i have long legs so next to no space in rear for my kids although they did think it was a cool car have now got a big booring car will have to wait till kids grow up and then i can grow old disgracefully with another coupe
i bort a blak 1.7vct ford puma and i love it to bitss the power-steering, the gearbox, electric windows everyfings smashing only fing is i had it a day and the clutch went on me, wot bad luk... the cars are well worth the money and they are so smooth and the engine is silent, however has a nice natural roar wen u put ur foot down
brilaint looks, v fast and v smooth, economical, handles well
poor interior, just like a fiesta, the back doesnt offer much space
I have had my 2001 Silver Ford Puma now for about 3 weeks, I love it to bits, it's immaculate and has only done 17000 miles. I can't complain about the boot letting in the rain as it hasn't rained yet since i've had it!! The one and only complaint I have is that I have the Ford 6 disc CD and it has been playing up and hasn't played properly since I've had it, or played a CD all the way through without jumping, my CD's are fine as they work in other players, seems like it plays up when it's cold and also long CD's, e.g. more than 13 songs. Has anyone else experienced this? My car is still under warranty until Nov 2004, so I will take it back to Ford if it continues to play up.
I own a red 98 1700cc version: Fun to drive. Handling is superb, engine smooth and punchy above 4000revs. Water pours in to the boot you open it in the rain - but an easy cure: don't open the boot if it is raining!!! Brakes can fade but that's partly down to my rather enthusiastic driving at times and partly down to drum brakes on the rear! Cheap to run and reliable. Had mine nearly two years and I cover about 35,000 miles per year in it!
Had mine over 2 yrs now. Dislikes? Rain pours in when you open the hatch. Steering wheel not reach / rake adjustable. Likes? Looks, handling, performance, fun to drive, not expensive to maintain, reasonable fuel economy (avg 38 mpg from the 1.7)
Owned for 2 years.

Hurrah! I'm not the only puma owner being driven mad by the parcel shelf popping out every journey. My boot fills with water when you open it too and its realy easy to scrape the alloys as well. Apart from that I love it.

I too agree with the boot thing; also did agree with the parcel shelf falling down easily but after a good push in place it actually fits in perfectly and hasn't come out since ~ even after throwing it round a few corners! I have a 1.7 VCT Melina Blue and what a bargain car it is! Handles brilliantly, no problems so far (after 3 months ish). Dislikes: Gear knob can be boiling in the summer and freezing in the winter.
have to agree with boot comments. also the parcel shelf keeps coming undone. and thats it for the negatives. for the money this car is hard to beat. hugs the tarmac when you through it around country lanes and easily enough power for rapid motorway driving. let me friends drive it and they all love it. enough said.
