A fine, yet under-rated 'small family' hatchback (by category), this car actually has the interior space of cars the next size up. Even with the front seats right back, there's plenty of leg- and head-room in the back.
Unlike some Italian cars, it is very reliable and rust-proof, and the fuel-injected or turbo-diesel engines offer both excellent performance and fuel economy. The later (93-96) models are best, and can be snapped up for peanuts. The SX models have excellent spec (electric everything and plush velour trim) and they are very easy yet very enjoyable to drive. Visibility is excellent and with the seats folded down, you can carry some pretty long / bulky items in it.

Got my J92 1.4s=(for sunroof & mudflaps) appx.9mths ago,doesnt like going into 2nd gear occasionaly and also jumps out again - then carrys on as usual. Needs selector rod / tightening bolt, when summer arrives. Very good engine now 85k rust only on passenger drivers side (pvc tape for that).Would recommend this car for its roominess and also plastic tailgate and front wings and lack of underbody rust, my carb version is group higher then the later 1.4 i.e. (that nearly doubled my last insurance -from peugeot 309 1397 £150 to £260 , so go for the later model. MPG 30 to 40+ The insurance was with full no claims. Also, if they had made this car with all plastic bonnet and doors , it would have been absolutely perfect. P.S. What a rip-off the insurance is

I have owned a 1992 Tipo 2.0 16v for 2 years and its been a great car, A real drivers car with a great engine and brilliant handling. Also the car was just over half the price of the equalivant competition. The car also has loads of extras that you dont find in others like p.a.s, eletric windows,mirrors, and sunroof as well as remote central locking.
