I have a 1973 Fiat 850 and a 1979 Fiat 127 I am restoring, they are ideal cars for novice restoration attempts, lovely cars to drive and well ahead of their time. I am after all parts if anybody has some lying about
First car was a 903 (I think) engine then got a Fiat 127 Palio (10?? engine). All I can say is that I knew nothing about cars until I got the 127 Palio THEN I knew how to change clutches (2 in 2 years), gearbox, reverse idler, engine mounts, radiator, alternator, fuel sender, cylinderhead overhaul (cam belt break), brake calipers, disks, pads, wheel bearings, stearing rack, UJ's...the list goes on, If you are thinking of being a car mechanic and want some practice then but a FIAT 127
When I baught my 127 it was already 13 yrs old. Never stopped anywhere except for that one time the centre engine mount broke. The mayor problem in the car where the wiper assembly (had to replace the whole thing). I love my car and still own it and hope I can keep it for much longer!!
Ive had one for the last 3 years, I got it for £70 and its still goin stronger than ever. easy to work on, economical to run, and handles like a well set up mini. Great fun if you can find one!
Owned for 3 years.

I had about 10. All rusted to F*** after one night outside. Braked seized too and electrics were doubtful. Perfomed and handled brilliantly though and always reliable.

All on memory you understand. I had three. Rusty, leaky, wonky gear change, fast, technologically advanced (for its age), beautiful. Just those darn brakes siezing all the time.
Owned for more than 5 years.
