i,ve despatched one for the last 120,000 miles. Only disc warping problems at first. Latest have silicon sealant behind disc bolts. Apparantly the problem was water getting in behind and warping plates. Rear disc needs drill holes to be kept clear of muck because when blocked they overheat the disc under braking and !!!!. Apart from that this bike has been the best despatch bike i,ve ever had and i know someone who's coming up on 300k, no engine problems at all, only two clutches and two thermastic switches. - enjoy

Bought second-hand with just over 12,000 miles on the clock. Came with hand protectors, heated grips and a Honda top box and backrest fitted.
On starting to use it I found both front discs were warped, these were replaced under warranty (at the 2nd try as discs for an NTV650 were supplied at first )and have so far given no further trouble. In the 18 months since purchase i have covered a further 20,000 miles ,mainly commuting, with nothing needed other than regular servicing and one set of Michelin tyres.
The front pads look as though they will need replacing at the next service but this will be the first set since 12,000.
Regularly covers 100 miles on not much more than £5 of petrol and while i can't claim they are particularly quick miles they are covered with a fair degree of comfort and protection and most importantly it has always started and always got me there and back in one piece.

I have owned a Deauville for a year. It is my second bike. I use it for commuting every day and a 200 mile round trip every fortnight. I have found it completely reliable, comfortable and enjoyable to ride.

This bike is perfect for my way of life plus the wife enjoyes it as well. Unfortunately she would like to enjoy it more.
I have found that the paint work on the body near the boot leg region will rub off and needs to be protected or a small paint job will be needed.
I would be interested if anyone has heard of any problems on this bike as so far i cant find any.

The faired Deauville is a development of the long-established NTV650 Revere and is assembled at the Honda-owned Montesa factory in Spain. Research showed that many Revere owners added some sort of luggage to the bike, and the factory's answer is a pair of integrated 17 litre panniers. another 10 litres can be added each side with the optional larger lids and a top box and a whole host of other extras are optional as well.

The other standard addition is the fairing, which is slim enough to slip easily through heavy traffic (the Deauville's intended habitat) while on the open road it gives excellent rider protection, with two exceptions. Taller riders like myself would like a taller screen to reduce wind buffeting (it's not among the options). And on a cold, wet launch the three-quarter-length fairing did nothing to protect the feet, with lots of spray thrown up by the wheels. Lower shields are one extra that should come as standard.

There are some changes to the familiar NTV650 V-twin. It's been re-tuned for torque rather than power, while a larger flywheel with modified valve and ignition timing all help to reduce vibration levels. Very little vibration reaches the rider, though you are aware of the engine working away. There's a larger radiator than before and the shorter silencer gives little more than a pleasant burble.

On the open road the non-adjustable telescopic forks and single shock rear with pre-load coped well enough with uneven road surfaces and was taut enough to allow impressive angles of lean. There was no torque reaction from the shaft drive to unsettle the bike when pushing hard either. It cruises well too - the bodywork is slippery enough to allow well over 100mph seated normally, and more when crouched behind the screen.

Detailing, as you'd expect on a bike touted as a convenient commuter, is good. The inner fairing panels are well finished with provision for speakers (the wiring loom is already provided) and a neat LCD clock comes as standard. Neat touches like this abound, including good handholds for rocking the bike onto its centre stand. Pillions also get a good deal with grab rails and a comfortable seating position.

owned mine for a year now.8,500 miles incl a two up trip to Corsica and total reliability.Speed bump contact necessitates warranty claim for centre stand stop which is part of the rear silencer...also experiencing slight disc distotion up front so also a warranty claim.Only other minor moan was when I came to fit new plugs...4 of them and its at least a three hour job taking off all the plastics to get at 'em!!.Used regular for two up work and feels like it was made to do just that...90 mph cruise with luggage well within its capabilities.Who needs a Pan?

Owned for over 1 yr now. Never broken down, blown a few fuses though.

Traveling with a pillion is great, esp if you add a top box with rest.

Others might complain about the power, but if thats what u were after, you should've been looking at the CBR instead.

Basically, the Ford Focus equivalent of bikes. Brings your everywhere, small enough to nip around, but large enough for a comfortable trip. Decent fuel economy.

I only kept the bike 6 months. It was a bit too bland, and I wasn't impressed by the way it was just an NTV650 with some expensive plastic bits stuck on. I think an old NTV might be a better option, and would be better finished. The gearbox put me off too, it needed treating like an old BMW to get positive engagement. The built in panniers are small; better use could be made of the space around the frame. I don't want to slag it off completely though; it was very comfy, moved quite well on the open road, and was economical.

I've had the Deauville for two years
and so far I have not had any problems.
It suits the type of touring/commuting
riding that I do and averages over
60mpg.
