Excellent bike. Not as fast as the 600 but much more real world rideable. Will shame a lot of bigger tackle on the tracks especially Pembrey and Croix en Terniox. Rev it over 9000rpm for swift progress. Parts are harder to get by I found especially 2nd hand. Cheaper on insurance and petrol then an RS250. Comfortable it is not but you can take it to Assen or Le mans and back without it breaking down and keep up with the others at 90mph cruising speed. Buy one you'll love it
if u aint got the dosh for a race pipe drill the baffles out of ur standard can i have done 3 bikes so far and they shift 145mph best one , only trouble is the old bill will tug ya sound sawesome tho
I sell de-restrictors (rev booster) for Kawasaki ZXR400. Price is £39.95 including p+p. If you haven't got one, what are you waiting for? Why settle for 112mph when you can transform your machine into a 140mph monster!! Also other de-restrictors available for VFR400/RVF400 and GSXR400. Contact me at [Log in to view email]
I had one which failed its m.o.t on a rear shock. Original cost was £495.00 plus v.a.t!! Thankfully the same shock fits a few bikes across the 400 range -including differant makes- so I was lucky and got it second hand for £50.00, so beware!! Check the shocks! Excellant bike though!!
I use this bike for commuting 80 miles a day. When i bought the bike i liked the shape but was unsure of the riding position and the lack of power for doing this sort of journey every day. No Problemo though!! The bike is light and therefore doesn't chew through tyres, Bonus! I got about 7000 out of a set of BT57's. Yes, you have to use the gearbox for any realistic performance, but what do you expect for a 400. The only thing that i had problems with on this bike was damp getting into the plugs, due to covers not being seated correctly, which is worth checking frequently if you are riding in the wet. I did have a problem once with starting but i had to buy a genuine part (which i cannot remember what it was) but first was fibbed off with a KR1S version which proved to be bollocks. Overall, this bike is like, chuckable, with good bonuses when you talk about tyre wear and buing bits. It is suprising what top end bikes you can keep up with especially road nice curvy roads. FUN BIKE

i own a zxr400L3, this is a uk bike and have had no trouble getting parts. i gave this bike a rating of 5 for performance, due to its superb handling, turns in really quick and feels like its on rails through bends. rear end is very hard though, lumps in road leave me sitting on the tank! to make most of bike you need to be bouncing it off the red line. surprisingly quick for a 400cc bike, managed to make some big bike riders blush. bridgestone bt56s give real confidence. If your less than 12 stone you`ll need to adjust rear sus`. you can visit my site on http://www.zxr400.org to read more and link to other zxr4 sites.
