Had a Kawasaki 750 Turbo which was eventually smashed to bits after hitting a Land Rover. Fantastically fast in a straight line, but wobbly handling round bumpy bends on the IOM TT circuit on 'mad Sunday'. Handling improves with a pillion. Overall very reliable with only a failed temperature sensor marring the typical Kawasaki bullet proof build. Comfy to ride, even all the way from UK to Spain. Great bike. 130mph on German autobahns...great.
Straight line acceleration. Reliability.
chassis weakness around the bends.
Reviewing a 1984 model.

Owned for 2 years.
It was an absolute gas owning my '85 750Turbo. Bought it in 1990, blisteringly fast(in it's day) in a straight line. In 1995 I modified whole bike after 50,000 miles of mahem. Needed rebore & new turbo, TTS did me an 810cc kit and got a Rayjay turbo on a trip to The States. Frame was modified with some extra bracing at headstock & z-braced at the swingarm pivot point. Fitted JMC braced swingarm & 17" rear wheel from GPZ1100 & brake calipers all round from GPZ600R. Ah memories, 'twas bliss! Sold it to my mate in 2000, who still drives it now 5yrs later, on same engine!
Have had numerous bikes, and raced against plenty of the new stuff. Had my first turbo 12 years ago, now I have the second one, already spent some 4 years trying to rebuild. NOT looking for original exhaust, but for more and more power, handling will be improved with a new front and rear, same chassis and same engine, but HPU and loads of money, ram-air, intercooler, 880 kit, and everything else i can find. My wish?.....give those buggers with the shiny new R1´s and Aprilia´s a really really hard time, with an aircooled OLD bike. plus, is THE most wonderful bike to go traveling on, ever....
Hi, I have owned my turbo for over five years now, haven't ridden it for over a year, been doing it up, completely refurbished turbo, the original exhausts back on, everything is looking tidy again, just need to MOT it. If anyone is looking for a nice 1984 750 turbo at a reasonable price then let me know, I live in the Portsmouth, Hants area. Shame to see it go but i just don't get out often enough now, this has been a great classic bike for me, top power, radical handling!! but massive grunt in a straight line, never been dropped, appart from the disc lock incident, yeah ok i did look a pillock but we've all done it.
IM NO PLASTIC BIKER, I LOVE MY GPZ 750 WHICH IVE HAD FOR ABOUT ELEVEN YEARS NOW. THE MRS TOLD ME TO MAKE A CHOICE THE BIKE OR HER (PMSL), BUT SHES BACK NOW.A FRIEND LENT ME HIS R1 THIS YEAR (CHEERS DOM)AND YES ITS COOL BUT ITS A SUMMER TOY ONLY WHERE AS THE GPZ IS ALL SEASONS AND THE WINTER IS WHERE IT REALY COME TO LIFE. ITS DEFINATLY A TOP GUN IN MY BOOKS. STEVE GARDNER

Had one in 85,loved it then, got another 2.5 years ago. Additive power band with intresting handling. Good reliability and very tunable motor. If you got one enjoy, if you aint then try to blagg a go to see what all the fuss is about.
hi iam just about to buy another turbo i have not owned one since 1990 have had lots of modern blkes but these do not have any character any one out there got a good original one for sale
I have a 84 kawa gpz turbo 750 rebuilt and rebuilt again, the turbo is fun had horsepower unlimited rebuild it I ran a 11.5 121mph at the track, not so great handling but rip the throttle back and goodbye 2003 superbikes!! This bike is incredibly fast and extremely reliable never left me stranded mine has 23,000 miles on it ride it every day great bike
Owned a 750 turbo for 13 years (1985 to 1998) and 25,000 miles. Very much regret selling it. Incredibly reliable, very very fast and respectable MPG (worst of 30 and typically 45MPG) I even once took it over 155mph. One day I'll get another!
I've got two of these bikes. One has been turned into a dragbike, the other one is stock. Fantastic power delivery is what makes people love this bike. Although there are some bad ones around, there is now plenty of help for owners available through my website http://www.750turbo.com Not the cheapest of bikes to own, but very rewarding for the money.
well i bought my 84 gpz 750 turbo for $600.00. i thought i was getting away with a steal, but when i got it home to fix it there was a problem. a gear inside for my starter is f#$%ed up, i can hear it grind when i turn it over. but when she starts baby, she will go. so if anyone out there has any spare parts or a running motor they would like to sell e_mail me at [Log in to view email]
i've owned this bike for 2 years now and found it to be one of the fastest old superbikes..but the parts are very hard to find....i'd rate this bike very high for performance wise i could do the quater mile in 13 secs or less but i've also tweaked the bike a little...if you have any comments our know where abouts to find parts feel free to email me
