I have had the beast for a year. the wife drops the kids off to school everyday in it and at weekends i take it to naughty places where you shouldnt go, just to see what it can do. I have had to replace the front wheel bearings, the exhast and have the clutch cable done... but that aint bad for a 14 year old tank with 143k on the clock..i have owned many cars form a mint Mg midget, Many hot hatches through to Bwms..but i have had the most fun in this one:)
I am the proud owner of a daihatsu foutrak F reg, i have had the car just over a year, it was bought for £2,000 and was bought for me by my dad, working long hours and being in a place where vehicals have difficulty getting there it is great.I drive about 14 miles to work and although my car is getting on abit now the petrol consumption is brilliant about 32 to the gallon .I have plenty of room enough space to put my bloodhound in and all the family. As for parts and avialability i have had no problem i have found a very good garage which seems to be able to cope with anything i might want done.I have had various cars in my time from; Golf GTI,Vaxhuall cars,MG Roadster, Fords, and on and on.But i have to say that the Daihatsu is the best i've owned, they are not built for speed, and can some times be rather slow. But i feel very safe and although second hand are a bargain for what they cost(The poor mans Range Rover). At some stage i will not hesitate to buy a newer one and have two.So if anyone is thinking of buying one go for it, try and make sure it has some service history because this will tell what sort of life the car has had.I hope these comments have been useful. At just 21 years old, this was my first car (second hand)TDX . now coming out of learning to drive in a metro tin-can on wheels car to a giant 4X4 Juggernaut challenger tank is not a recomened route to follow, as I have had my share of battle wounds from widthand hight judging. first off, streetcred, it looks great, and roars like a caged animal when reved. The amount of power this car has is un believable. True the turning circle is not that great, and there are many blind spots in the car, but other than that, this is a monster on wheels. Cargo space is tall rather than wide/deep. Have gone to many open air events and had to pull ALL my friends cars out of "dug'in" situations. As this was my first car I cannot really compare it to another, I did drive my brothers Renault, but as that was a different class of car I could not get used to it. I missed being able to see over the other cars, not being cut up. My Fourtrack is dark green with tinted out windows (not aplied by me, was bought that way).. I call it "my car jeepy thing".. I love my car. I treked it all over the scottish highlands and it never failed me once. the only thing I had to change that I really hated and could not bare to have in the car was the stereo. I had to change it to a Sony CD stereo, other than that... I cannot fault this car. it is GREAT !
This four wheel drive will last forever mine has done 230000 miles and never missed a beat i know of some that have done over 350000

Independent TDX. Excellent overall driving abilities, 110% reliability, nice aesthetics, economy when you want it, power when you need it, knocks the socks of the Shogun (believe me, it just does), expect parts a little hard to acquire quickly & expensive - but then, what 4wds aren't? What more do I have to say?
Owned for 1 month.
