i bought mine last week, a cheap and cheerful 4x4, the lift off roof was the reason i chose it (i didnt have much of a clue when it came to buying a 4x4), and i thought it would be fun. it is in incredible condition for its age (1990) and after a few mods (ie bull bar, alloys, spots, mp3 player +speakers, a few little bits n bobs) i think this shed of mine might even get a little bit of street cred from those boy racers. ( i will blind them from behind if they overtake me .... lol), bit heavy on juice but no more than a mid size bmw or granada( i know this from experience). not everyones cup of tea but i like it and thats all that counts for me. (a friend said to me ... " for the money you have spent you could have had an escort rs turbo" .... ha ... ever tried going off road in an rs? .... overall fun, fun, fun

A bullet proof chasis, cool looks and very under rated as a vehicle, probably the closest the japs came to the "landy! along with the Fourtrack. Parts can be pricey, and the lack of a Hayness manual is a drawback, though the owners club is a big plus for the happy owner. Outclasses suzuki and other jap models of it's age by a long shot, and is almost as capable as Landys of a similar age. The new models that they do however are pretty much just fasion toys.
The removable roof and rear make it an ideal beach buggy and shooting vehicle......my mates and I have had bags of bunnies in the 100's.
Buy one today!!!

The best feature is the removable roof as the soft top is great. Also the looks are superb. The engine is good and reliable although acceleration from a standstill is slugish and fuel economy is not great. Parts are readily available but expensive. However, the overall style, versitility and superiority to the Suzuki Vitara and Toyota Rav4 makes it well worth having.

I've only had mine a few week's, and already, i think it's the best vehicle, i've had in my, 11 years of driving. I have had fast car's, been a boy-racer, but, when i get in, i just wanna take my time to get to places now. I see all the boy racers, rallying around, but everything goes past too quick! when you can appreciate things that go by, OVER THE HEDGES? The car makes me a better person already!

Bought mine new in 1996, the only outlay has been for two new rear springs, caused by over-enthusiastic bunny-bashing. WHY did they stop making them for that silly little hair-dressers Terios with its farty little engine?? I would buy another, if they were available. Best motor I have ever owned, fast, quiet, reliable. Petrol consumption (25MPG overall)not so hot, otherwise couldn't fault it.
