Have owned my fj now for 5 years. This bike has never let me down.A true 150mph superbike.I tour California year round on this bike and have done 600 miles + in one day easily.Have also made the trip to Los Vegas From LA a 340mile trip in under 3 hours across 120 degree desert. This bike for it's age is most definately one of the best value for money 17 year old power house you will ever find
Mine was a 1200, but otherwise much the same. True 150mph tourer that you and a pillion could easily do 400 miles on in a day. Don't own it now, but if I wanted to cross continents, it would still be high on my list of options.
This a bike that I think will last me forever. I imported from the states in 1985, had to change the seat as a bit uncomfortable. The best thing about this bike is the amount of luggage space you have.

Cannot fault these bikes. Bullet-proof engines, excellent handling, and very quick old workhorses. I constantly leave the plastic rocket boy racers in my trail

Liked it the only reason I sold it was to finish uni, it went well and put up with abuse and was very comfortable over distance. It's clutch was to only mechanical failure of note.

Great bike (1984), bought it for 1500 Euro's three years ago with 80.000km on the counter. Some minor things; lousy saddle (after 2 hours I really need to stop, hardened the saddle but helped only little, front suspension to soft and doesn't quite take all the bumps out. Performance excellent, My friends XJ900 is a real slow mover compared with this thing. It eats rear taillight bulbs (have been looking for short fuse but nothing wrong with it (to bumpy?).
