ive had my alfa 145 for over two years i love this car and intend to keep it,ive had over 15 cars but none are as much fun as my alfa, only bad point is that they are expensive to maintain and it takes a while for bits to arrive
Best car I've ever owned. Loves being driven hard, makes every journey fun. Also a bit different to a Golf, and the boy racers don't seem to know what it is.
Surprisingly practical - mine fits two people (I'm 6'2") + lots of camping kit + kayaks no problem. Currently at 96K miles, no major problems (touch cheap effect plastic).
Stupidities include pathetic turning circle, manic windscreen wipers, no reverse gear lockut (5th to reverse - ouch!) and super long range remote locking allowing me to unlock the car from inside the house by mistake!
Summary - when I bought it I was going to keep it for a year. I've now had it for over 4, and think I'll keep it until it's dead (sniff).
Outstanding car that really does offer amazing value for money. Fast, very responsive road car, even better on a race track. Yes a bit heavy on the petrol, but who cares when you're having such fun! Looks like the 147 will be a worthy succ
It's an absolute joy to drive this car. It's pretty fast, but the steering is fenomenal! Second hand it's much cheaper than the VW Golf. The only thing you'd hear me sulking about is the fuel consumption. Overall: GREAT CAR!
I've had a few problems driveshaft, starter moter, fan belt but great car to Drive, well balanced handling

Good Ponits - Fast.
Bad Points - Incredibly thirsty, unreliable, poor bulid qulaity and apalling electrics. Mine has had a new heater motor, throttle body, blocked breathers plus numerous other faults since I bought it.
None the less, I love it and it's as fast as hell for a 1.8 - which other 1.8 can boast 140bhp, apart from the mighty Honda's?
It took me two years to find one, then two came along together - it's a 147 for me next, non the less.

From the first moment I saw it I had to have it! It looks special, and different from all of the other clones on the road. When it works it is a beast, but unfortunately it does not become a beast very often! Since purchased 10 months ago have had a new clutch, 2 new front tyres, and new brakes on the back, and numerous other niggles such as bulbs, dodgy electrics, and door trim starting to come away! Drinks a lot of petrol as well! All in all there is no disputing that the car is a joy to drive, but don't buy one if you can't afford to repair it when it goes wrong!!!

This is a lovely car, that is very responsive, but it does eat a lot of petrol, on long journeys as soon as you get in the fast lane you can see the petrol dropping. Other than that you feel very safe and its very roomy and comfortable
