I own a beautiful soft yellow and white two tone '72 left hand drive, Paris built Citroen DS. It's the most amazing car I have ever owned. Quite simply it's unique in style, ride quality, engineering and sheer outrageous looks. Nothing comes close to a DS, and you will never be alone if you own one. People are drawn like a moth to a flame to it. They just want to talk about it, from young kids, to boy racers, to the ladeeeeeeez and the older generation. All are smitten with it.
Parts are readily availabe, and there are plenty of mechanics who know how they tick (and they do tick, and whirr and hiss and hum and buzz)
Join the Citroen car Club for good advice to help find a good 'un. NOT for the faint hearted but an absolute hoot to anyone who refuses to be pigeon holed into a Euro box, to conform to the drab gray conventionality that so many succumb to without realising it.
Dare to be different. Drive a Citroen DS and the world will smill with you!

At the time it was launched, the Citroen DS was the ultimate in high tech. An amazing gas/oil system powered the suspension, steering, brakes, clutch and gearchange. However, a few decades on, this technology has become a bit of a liability, and maintnenance is really a somewhat specialist job. If you ever get the chance to drive one - take it.

Having purchased the last D Special imporded into Houston in 1973, I was in for an adventure. 140K and 25 years later I was still in love. It has a fantastic ride, requires specalized maintenance and parts are not that expensive although you may need to get from Europe. Styling is a matter of taste and if you don't see many of the latest vehicles of today with the features of the DS-21. It's not for everone. If you love it, good for you, if not, go buy a SUV.
