One of the worlds great cars. Raw uncompromising performance in a compact pachage. Provides real performance at useable speeds. Not a car for year round motoring or long motorway journeys though. Should be considered a second car. Latest versions are larger. Equipment levels are minimal, but that is what the car is all about. Great owners club

Not the kind of car you want if you need to transport 2.4 kids and their luggage around. However if you want a car which will leave a grin on your face wider than the Watford gap then a Caterham is the car for you. If you are prepared to put up with a few compromises it is probably the finest drivers car available. It's performance is second to none, it keeps its residuals well and is relatively cheap to run.

Total uncompromised performance.
One of the very few cars that makes no compromise with regards to performance, handling and downright fun. Other manufacturers are now trying to copy the formula but none have yet achieved it.
Cars still available from new, parts plentiful and almost no depreciation.
If you've only got one friend, and can share a small packed lunch, then this is the car you'll have the most fun in.

The performance of this car is awesome. Mine only develops 120bhp but it only weighs 525kg so the power to weight ratio can be said to be "pretty good". Handling is like a go-kart. You have to learn to drive all over again. Don't bother slowing down for a corner it takes them better at speed.

If you buy one of these I'd recommend building it yourself. Caterham suggest 70-100 hours to build the car from a complete kit of parts. I took time off work and completed it in 65 hours in 7 days flat. It's not difficult although the manual is not as comprehensive as it could be.

So just go and give the nice man in Caterham your deposit. If you order before Christmas you could have it built and registered by the time it stops raining next year.

In the Summer you just can't get a better car. In the winter I want to go out in her but....
It's a love hate relationship. Don't tell her tho' she is my baby.
