The Z4 is a very safe and strongly built small classic cruising yacht. The ealy hulls were fastened with brass screws, so look for a later hull, which is copper fastened. The steel ring frame under the mast, and steel floors, can rust badly in the bilges. Check these out. The original pine deck can rot if rain water leaks have been left for a long time. A new deck is a bonus on any boat offered for sale. Also, look for a diesel engine. The old Stuart or Watermota petrol engines can be unreliable, and expensive to run.
These boats sail well, and cope with rough weather safely.
