A great boat with real character. My boat is 26 years old but you'd never know it and looks like she'll go on for another 26 years. Comforable inboard (compared with the Drascombe I had before).
versatile, easy to sail, good for the family
a bit tricky to go astern on the outboard

I have owned 2 shrimpers now. I have found that they are very sturdily built and I love the traditional Cornish lines, the gaff rig and tan sails. They are very easy to sail either single handed or with a crew. The shallow draft and lifting steel centreplate makes the shrimper a very versatile boat.

Bought one new last season. Excellent with small children. Sailed extensively in coastal waters from Poole. A bit like living in a small tent but the kids find that adds to the attraction.
Wasnt overly impressed with Crabbers after sales service. As soon as they had got your money they didnt really want to know about problems!! (which were relatively minor)

Sailed on Solent and Thames Estuary. Great fun as a weekender but cramped below.Spent many a week too but looked like a garden gnome - all bent double.
Whilst rather slow - cutting corners and going across sand banks - we always were 1st home!
As a family day sailer/weekender - very well worth the fun.
Owned for 5 years.
