Accomodation Overall Value for Money

I have owned a Seawych for aboout 16 years. I have sailed her in the Adriatic and the Baltic as well as inland and coastal UK waters. She is a steady boat but as others have said, not the fastest for her size, due to the bilge keels. The roller genoa works well but the roller reefing of the main arround the boom is useless. Convert to slab reefing. I changed the rudder to a balanced design which is much lighter and the cheapest possible autopilot works well with it.

I liked the standard loo but in this environmentally aware age I changed it for a chemical one. The accomadation is excellent for a 19 footer but the cockpit is a bit cramped for al fresco dining or G&Ts at sunset.

The owners club is excellent. This is a great boat to get started with cruising, enough space for mum, dad and 2 small kids or a dog to live aboard for two or three weeks

Owned a Sea Wych for many years, she was safe, sturdy and reliable with good accommodation for such a small boat.
She would dry out on her moorings or whilst cruising with no problems. Not the fastest of yachts but overall quite good performance.

I have moved on since owning a Sea Wych to a larger boat but I have to say that they are boats with masses of accommodation and they sail well. In Force 5 or above you do need to reef to effective sails (hence no roller reefing on the main) but they are absollutely brilliant as the first sailing boat with a lid for anyone wanting to get started with cruising.

We owned no 5 many years ago and have very fond memories - A family of four were more comfortable than in many larger boats.

Very cheap to keep, incredible accommodation for her size and a fantastic owners association.

Great value for money and an ideal first yacht.
