Robust and simple basic small cruiser that can sail in just about any wind and forgive most mistakes that don't involve rocks! Sils comfortably with a family of 4 on board but not up to more than 2 overnight.
An excellent small (18ft) sailing cruiser that is very easy to sail single-handed. Designed by the legendary Uffa Fox, it has four nominal berths, although two is more realistic and (in the Super Foxcub version I have) has more than adequate sitting headroom. Easy to trail and sail at 550kg weight, it points up well and is very responsive to the rudder, spinning round in its own length. Handling is predictable and the boat always feels stable. Good in light winds, but in a good breeze she will really show her paces.

have just acquired a foxcub and am thrilled, seems to have all you might need for small family to live on board and offers confidence in terms of stability. I managed to recover the boat on its trailer with a fair amount of ease. It's bilge keels fitted nicely into the trailer housing and didn't need to too deep. Would be interested in any tips on how to tension the rig and how she tens to respond in different weather conditions

Excellent sailer -easy to single-hand. Fin keel is difficult to recover onto trailer, which has to submerge very deep. Goos, all-round budget sailing/trailing. NG
