Good, chunky build and large screen. Large keypad and 4 usb ports. The dell is fairly fast considering the amount of applications and files I have acquired in 11 months ownership, and I also use it for multimedia [video editing and animation] which is fairly processor intensive. The hard drive is a generous size and is still only 25% full inspite of all the artwork I create, applications rairly hang and with average "housekeeping" the speed of commands remains quick. The dell is quite heavy as it is a large laptop, and the manufacturers claims of robustness are well founded, [this accounts for the weight.] Firewire connection available for attaching video camera and dvd tray for cd/dvd burning. Touchpad for navigation allows for use without mouse. To summarise, I would say this model is well worth the money I paid as it is quick and well made compared to many more expensive laptops. Portability is not really a factor for the dell as it is fairly weighty, but not prohibitive for carrying. Should be bundled with Vista home premium which has improved file search capabilities and internet security.

robust, value for money, large keyboard, large screen, remains quick inspite of collection of files, large harddrive , good range of connections for peripherals,
fairly weighty,
