Hi, I have a wee Toyota Starlet 97 and have loved it! Nippy compact holds the road well, good fold down storage too..great car to start driving in. Recently purchased a Toyota Starlet Turbo 95 and boy can it move...hard to believe it's only 1332cc. It does not consume more petrol than my 97 surprisingly. These cars are reliable and maybe the parts are a little more expensive, specially the imports, BUT if it makes you happy it's worth it!
janski
sturdy, nippy, hold the road, good space layout
import parts are difficult and time consuming sometimes
Reviewing a 1997 model.
now upgrading to a starlet GT turbo!!!

I paid $300 for a 1981 Starlet almost a year ago. Put some oil in the rear end, adjusted the valves, tuned it up and it hasn't stopped since. Amazing reliability considering it's got over 350,000 miles and is over 22 years old. I'm actually thinking of totally rebuilding, refinishing and reupholstering the thing to new condition, instead of buying a newer car. It'd probably last another 20 years. 1980's Toyotas, man! It's the way to go!
its a great car.Have a great handling Is excelente in cornering. A lot of milage for the fuel you buy. I´m totally regreted because I sold my Starlet Baby.
