Citroen C2 1.1 LX in sport red, registered February 2005 and used as a main dealer's demonstrator until my wife and I bought it at 3 months old for £6500 to use as her runabout instead of using increasingly unreliable and expensive public transport. It has been faultlessly reliable in deference to most surveys of the marque! It has proven no more expensive than travelling by bus with cheap insurance and very long service intervals. The performance is OK for it's engine size and it will cruise quietly at 80mph and 4000revs. on the motorway but needs pushing a bit in town traffic. Best cruising steadily on country roads. Will do 50 mpg like this or 45-48 at 70 mph on the motorway, although this is not it's favourite environ as it struggles to pick up on hills from 65mph and gusty winds make long journeys tiring. Surprisingly it only does 35-38 mpg in town, however it is driven. The seats are reasonably comfortable in the front but there is not enough leg room in the back for adults to sit comfortably. The boot is small but is big enough except for a family holiday. Overall a cute, appealing car with light, steering and gear change and strongly assisted brakes. I often take it instead of my Toyoa Avensis.
