I have owned the car for over 7 years in which time I have had to replace head gasket (103,000 miles) and @ 175,000 needed new alternator which has cost me £329 +new battery £90. Over the years apart from head gasket it has been excellent. Fantastic ride (even better than bus. partners 06 reg E200)comp) and no back ache even after long journeys. The car has now covered 176,000 miles and I noticed an oil leak (oil all over the drive) which my mechanic tells me is from the transmission and due to age of vehicle (1995 model 1996 reg) is not worth fixing. Is he right I would like a second opinion.

Pros:

Huge space, very comfortable and good performance

Cons:

high fuel consumption 22-25 mpg
