This is my 2nd Benz (first was '88E 230TE Auto - £350 at auction - what a bargain). This one lacks cruise and the manual box is ok but auto soo much better for this huge cruiser. Diesel is 'stately' - certainly not fast, but it makes a lovely noise when you wind it up and the economy (a realistic 35mpg) is impressive for such a massive car. Supremely comfortable especially on motorway. Had 150k when I bought a year ago, I've added 15k since then and have had no problems at all. Major 162k service recently cost me £220 at Merc specialist, so no complaints there. I'd swap for a higher spec W124, but don't fancy any other model for the forseeable future. I love it! Oh it cost me £2k a year ago, still worth the same today.
