I haven't owned many bikes, but I've ridden a few and this has to be the most comfortable and easiest-to-handle bicycles I have ever ridden.
It was given to me by a friend who was given a new bike. It is from West Germany and had been owned by at least four other people previously.
It has one front brake and one powerful rear coaster brake which is operated by pushing the pedals backwards which I absolutely love and find very useful as it is not affected by rain.
It has three hub gears, a bike rack with a spring-clip, front and rear dynamo-driven lights, mud guards and it is superb!
The handlebars curve backwards (very comfortable) and the bike is short lengthways so although it is the correct height, it also provides a very comfortable upright riding position.
I only wish I had a second one!
Comfortable, nice-looking, has a bit of character (more than a ubiquitous mountain bike), useful, easy to ride, handles well, easy to stop and start.
The rear light is a bit vulnerable on the rear mudguard.
German bike
Owned for 6 months.
