I was talked into this car by a mate who works at a 'quality' Merc dealers. Our friendship has only just survived! A 'V' registration with 28.000 on the clock I paid 12.500 GBP for it and it has been nothing but very expensive trouble. The list of problems that began within days of the warranty expiring is manifold and includes alarm sensors needing renewal - about 500 GBP, a new steering rack (!) - on a V reg Merc? - a reweld on a flange that carries the spring loaded boot lid - this parted company from the body and shot across my vision as I leaned into the boot one morning! Sevicing is very costly and the overall paint finish is poor - have had to have a professional bodywork company 'touch up' various areas including the bumpers front and rear. there is always talk - but there seems to be some view around that Merc downgraded their traditionally great body build quality and sourced a significant number of models from South Africa. This must be one of those - and a Friday car at that. I hate it and its worth virturtually nothing now. Last garage service - new tyres and repair to the gear selector (stuck in drive) was a tad over 2000 GBP! Muggins bought the petrol version in beige and, even though I see the facelift model driving around on a V plate frequently enough mine is the classic shape - or read 'old' style! Merc carry too many models and this doesn't favour the average punter. Don't believe it - Buy the Nissan!
Looks OK if you want a Doctor's car
I'm not a Doctor - or a Merc mechanic - more's the pity! Hyped up dung on wheels that will demand a second mortgage to run.
