I have owned Apple machines since about 1993 and consider them to be the 'BMW' of computers. Quality & Reliability are key words here -compatability also is no longer an issue.
Not too far on the horizon now are Multi-OS Apple computers which will allow you a choice of Operating Systems eg. Windoze,Unix, MacOS on the same machine c/o Intel inside the Macs!
If you are considering an Apple -go for it, you won't regret it!
