update on the old derbi atlantis of mine!
after sitting round the back of the house for more than 2 months without being touched i decided to go and start her up nd take her down the road a spin.
took a good ten minutes to get her runnin but its running like a dream now (struggles to idle a bit though). unfortunatley shes never going to go back on the road as the harsh winter months have taken there toll on my little ped. electrics have all failed nd the wires have perished beyond repair. so now it spends its life bezzing up and down the field next to my house. fitted a big bore kit and 4.5gram rollers and it hits 30 in no time which is fast enough for sumfin with very little suspension. itll still hit 50 on the roads tho. which is nice

Overall this bike isnt too bad. although being one of the less popular derbi imports it is actually really difficult to find parts without opting for expensive malossi aftermarket parts. i bought mine off of ebay (big mistake) so didnt really get a very good example. its lasted 7 months now and is still going strong but has to be one of the most unreliable vehicles in the whole of the college car park. even the guy who owns the cagiva mito (mmmm......) has had his bike in the garage less times than me!!! its a good strong bike though dont get me wrong and it will go on forever and back again. its also quite sporty as well as quite stylish. mine is completely bog standard apart from a cheap sports exhaust which took it from 30mph to 50mph and it does that fairly quickly too. but being a 50cc it does struggle with hills and the fuel tank is way to large for a 50cc bike. the fuel tank is 10.9 litres!!! it takes me about a 2 weeks to get through it all! so obviously its quite a fuel efficient bike too. overall i have to say although i got a pretty shabby example this scooter isnt actually that bad i just wish it had spent less time in the garage (although thats partially my fault for buying a poor one). anyway iv sold it on now and have moved onto something a bit more stylish, the sachs madass!!!
