I have now owned two 900f's and i can't complain - they make the ideal euro tourer and i mean - Scotland, England, Holland,France,Germany,Spain,Andorra - all without a single hitch over varios years. They are easy to maintain and clean, they look good for abasic tourer and will cruise all day at 90/100mph. Fuel can vary but if your like me (tame) then35-45mpg is not uncommon (well you need to give it a blast!). comfort is good, hard luggage makes it perfect but prone to front wheel wobble - no big deal. I upgraded to progressive suspension, use car oil to change every 1000miles - is cheaper and i've no complaints! Brakes are supposed to stick -but then they will if you don't maintain them on any bike, dah! no oil leak's and shaft is a blessing. I did try out a numer of bikes from BMW, Kawa GT, Honda VT,CX ect, but for job and comfort this is hard to beat. Sold 1994 to friend and it's still going strong and looks new,(dam i should have kept it) promptly bought and FJ1200 and then went back to 1992 XJ900F. IF you see a good well looked after one, get it. Look out for fork seals needing renewed, battery renewal and regular oil changes - i use molyslip(car) in shaft. Good sparkplugs and the good dose of Redex (car) every so often to keep carbs clean. WARNING !!! you can easily find yourself cruising in a comfortable daydream at over speed limits - so slow down, relax and enjoy the scenery. alex
