Bought this 1990 VFR750FL to replace my FJ1200 3CV. Lighter, easier to shift around town and cheaper to run overall. Good brakes (braided lines a must), good enough suspension and very comfortable.

A very comprehensive bike with the ability to commute, weekend riding and touring. Reliable engine and excellent build quality. Only the wheels are a bit flaky now, but a bit of hammerite will sort that out nicely!

Parts are available via Ebay and David Silver Spares. Not too expensive and you can do a fair bit of work on the bike yourself. Well worth owning one for the lovely V4 sound. Make sure it has a fully stainless exhaust though as the original ones are like Swiss cheese at this age and cost a lot to replace (over £500).

Only problem I've had is the dreaded Reg/Rec failure on the first day of ownership. Dealer yet to refund for the replacement part that I bought off Ebay.

Reliable, quick enough for fun.
Reg/Rec failure is a reality. Need to get a fan on it to prevent over heating.

Can't believe there is only one review in this section so have to add.
Just about to pick up my third early VFR (f-k) ...Value! Pound for pound if you can find an unmolested one they are the best allrounder (yes I know you knew that)...I have ridden 40-50 bikes, owned 30+ and although I am too poor for Blades and Gixers (and old) the early VFR's are so inspiring. They are the only bikes I have power slid through wet twisties, done 250 A road miles and just wanted to turn around so I could do it in reverse (TDM 850 close tho) and my lady fell asleep on the back at 130!...smoooth. Really, Honda's may be a bit dull to look at but the build quality is extraordinary. If like me you can only afford a big one and a tiddler (RXS 100...great fun) go for a VFR...listen carefully to that rear cam and valves tho, tuff to get to and gets missed at services.
Oooh and a little word of warning, slow they are not and whats more you don't notice the speed. Good luck in your choices.

Supernice bike with a great engine. Had a devil slipon and what a great sound. Goes fast enough and have a nice drivingposition. Mine was black and like new (95mod).
If you are thinking about buying, dont hesitate. You will not regret it. I garantee.
