K650B1 I couldn't believe that no one had put the z900's brother up here, so here it is. Just a great bike to live with. I really appreciate the smoothness (for it's age) of the 4's, you can accelerate at any rpm so easily, 5th is so wide you can almost stay in that all day. It'll do 190kms (120mph) top and you get 5.5-7.0 litres/100kms (avr. 45mpg). Great classic looks, most parts not too hard to find too. You just yearn to ride it, and so it takes a little skill to handle the weight, but you find it's nimble in corners, fast but not silly, so reliable, pretty easy to maintain yourself - and you make friends it's great. I just can't change I'm always riding and riding. French 'A' roads in the summer are brilliant, I've done 8 hour stretches and the saddle is still comfy. The headlight bulb must be changed (xenon 60w does the trick), the starter can give trouble (but the kick is there) and b-stones are ace tyres. Stick on a fly screen, a screw in oil temp guage and bolt on an oil cooler and even some rearsets if you like and the bike goes even better and is just that bit more your machine. Add a top box to commute, goes fast two-up too, and a 4-1 pipe gives you 'howling' street cred. This air cooled 8 valve double overhead cam under bucket shim four started in 1976 and went right up to the ZR7 (yes the very same motor). For me it's a dream, I try other bikes but stick with this. It holds a straight line at very high speeds, sure as a mono rail, rock solid, and yet you can attack those bends and have soooo much fun. This, as you can tell by now, is my favourite 'K':)
