Reviewing a 1970 model.
my boss owned them
Owned for 3 months.
My first motor at 17 was a 1971 Bedord HA Van ( also referred to as the 'Beagle' or Viva Van ). I think the reg was EYO 976J... Anyway , it was 1056cc's of tin plate and rust ,with cross ply tyres and a starting handle as a back up! It was a real work horse and was like meccanno to fix. I pugged it up with about 4 tonnes of P38 and alumininum mesh and hand painted it BRG .With a years ticket , sold it for the grand sum of £100 to a builder. I can only imagine it melted over the follwing winter . I missed it so much , I've just bought one of e-bay for £140 ! They made 250000 of 'em and there can't be more than a few hundred left. Still not quite classics , but a bit of commercial vehicle history nonetheless. Need's some welding mind you...
Owned for 1 year.
