I had a 1984 80 quattro from September 2001 until April 2002. In that time I took the mileage of this one-owner car from 51,000 to 61,000. This was a rare version - only 10,000 made (and 1,000 sold in the UK) between 1983 and 1984, when the 90 took over. Performance was excellent and the traction in the wet simply superb. The car never let me down and the exhaust note from the 5-cylinder engine was wonderful!
The AUDI 80 cl is a very strong car, rust is not a problem and I have known mileages of 250,000. It is not exactly a fun car to drive but can be relied upon to get you where you need to be. If you like tinkering, it is possible to fit the optional extras from higher models as I did including electric windows, rev counter, power steering etc. Most parts just plug in, no hassle!
