I bought it bran new 2002 1st week the electric starter stopped working no biggie still got the kick start after 8 months that started to play up by staying down (payed to repair) brakes (front been changed 3 times already) (payed) 8months and real problems started scooter cut out completly, took to shop change carburator (heavy cost) and basically every month since I have had it its been in the garage for this or that, now i am paying to change the carb piston and something else again (heavy cost) and within 2 years I have more or less paid for the scooter again problem after problem Mainly Carb and piston and the shop waiting 1 month for the parts
Now the truth is maybe i have been unlucky or the garage guy is ripping me off, i dont know
but when this scooter is up and running normal it's a great scooter i get 75kmph about 50 mph easy I find it pulls away great Nothing rattles and it looks good
I wont get rid off it now as put too much money into keeping it going
I had a rally200 Vespa before, yes big difference but lets face it, their jobs are to take us from a to b
Thought I'd post my impression and experience about the Hyosung Sense. Ok here goes. I bought this scooter May 2002 on a whim and so far I'm very happy with it. Although it's a little underpowered at takeoff for its size it's been very reliable and comfortable to ride. So far I've put 10000 km on it without any major problems and have only used Motul dino synthetic scooter oil. Below I listed the pros and cons for the Sense.
Pros: Big comfy seat and lots of leg room for tall riders. Suspension is good and so far no loose body panels or unwanted rattles.Stock parts like belt and tires seem to last longer than my previous Honda Elite LX. Engine still pulls like new and has almost no sign of wear and tear.Brakes work very well unlike my previous honda Elite lx
Cons: Parts are harder to get than better known brands and seem to cost more. Headlight is dim and also has an annoying fliker. Tends to wear out front brake pads prematurely after only 3000 km. Getting to engine for service is difficult because side body panels and seat needs to be disassembled first. Muffler tends to rust prematurely The use of screws instead of bolts make for service and repair more difficult.
Ok here you have it. If you would like to add to this list or have any comments or suggestions please feal free to do so.
Thanks and Cya all!
