944 S2. What car can you think of that drives and handles so well when 18 years old with 179K on the clock. It makes me smile every time I get in it and still turns heads. Economy is acceptable for such a big car and ultimately it is different from the stock imppreza's and evo's. A certain style goes with the car!! I have taken mine of the road for a year and I am replacing carpets, brakes and really bringing the interior back to life. The exterior being galvanised is still in excellent condition and I hope to get at least another 10 years use out of it. Everything works.

Quality, exclusivity, looks, performance its a Porsche.
Some parts are hard to come by and quite expensive.

Always wanted a Porsche - should have bought one years ago, tended to by new motors and then after deciding for 6 months went and bought a 944 s2 on a 92 k with 120,000 miles that drives like it was built yesterday.

Guards red with the 17 inch 1968 wheels and a lowered suspension, this car handles like a dream and is still a head turner at 12 years old. Yep the back seats are a joke but who cares its a Porsche and its great fun.

Specialist dealer are reasonable on all prices, brakes are on the expensive side but for £9500 and 8 months of fantastic motoring without a rattle or a squeak long live the 944 S2

Dont hesitate buy one, just get one with Cam Belts and Cam Shafts done, FSH and well maintained and they will go well beyond 200k, speaking to a guy last week with a Black Turbo that hes had for 6 years with 297000 miles on the clock and still goes like a dream.

I've had mine for about 6 months now, and only want to change it as a really good 944 turbo has come up locally! A fine, well-engineered machine that puts a smile on my face. Previous car was a new BMW 323ci - the Porsche is 15 yrs older and just as much fun!! Get one.

I own a 1991 Turbo.

What I like is the build quality, the comfort and the lack of expense for such awesome performance due to the quantity of unofficial specialist dealers and mechanics.
It handles like a dream, goes like a rocket, and even fits my daughter and a weeks' shop in the back!

What I don't like is the road noise, and the rather childish negative attitudes from some road users...because I own a Porsche...how sad, spoils the experience at times, but it takes alot to wipe of the smile generated by driving an extraordinary car for an ordinary price whilst others continue buying new Golf GTi off shoots and other mundane machinery etc etc...now THATS sad!

I've owned an S2 cariolet now for two years. It cost £9750 and I have spent a bit more adding to it, but value for money it is truly worth it.
The cabriolet looks superb, even compared to modern day cabriolets. Even though the car is now 13 years old, it still accelerates and drives like a new car. It's been very reliable, not a squeek or bang to speak of. Services have costs me £299 by an authorised dealer every year.
I really do not understand why people spend more money on ordinary looking common cars (there are only just over 2000 RHD cabriolets) when you can buy a superb looking mini supercar for less??

I think that the Porsche 944 S2 is an
awsome car that represents excellent
value for money! I own a guards red
1990 model with full black leather. I
bought the car just over 2 years ago
for just £8k! that's £30k less than it
cost new! If a car cost so much when it
was new, you just know that the car is
going to be built well and drive and
handle well. It isn't a blindingly fast
car, but you can take it round corners
a lot faster than you would dare any
most modern sports or hot hatch cars! I
have driven 911's of the same year and
even ferraris as well as BMW's and
Mercs, but driving my 944 S2 puts a
bigger smile on my face than any of
those cars ever did! If you are
thinking of getting one, take my
advice, GET ONE!!!!

I swapped my P-plate Golf GTI for a 10 year old porker and its a decision I will never regret. Its as reliable as the golf, costs the same to run but the performance and enjoyment I get from this car is unrivaled.

I've now had this car for 18 months and still get the same thrill everytime I get behind the wheel.

Its fast, its fun, its a porsche!!!

I have owned a 1991 944 S2 for a year. It cost me £6500 privately. Buy with a reasonable mileage (under 125k) with a full history and you can't go far wrong. Make sure belts and cam chain have been done recently, check clutch works smoothly, be prepared to spend a bit more on maintenance and you have a baby supercar for the price of a three year old mondeo. Need I say more?
Of course a Subaru Imprezza will out- handle it but who wants to drive a japanese family car? If you have soul, drive Porsche. It fits like a second skin.
