Well this is my first bike since 1979, and after passing my test(second time)I bought this 1 owner dry bike, with 13,000 mls, never raced or dropped. I can not believe the power and performance from a bike that's 14yrs old. I know R1's are the dogs, but this is an older brother. Not done nothing to it for a whole season, well just a back tyre.

Every body in bike circles remembers this model and comments on the sheer grin factor it gives.

The seat could be more racing styled, but it will do. I've had issues at MOT with after market exhaust can, but it's been on since PDI, the guy had a racing can fitted from new and boy it sounds great.

Would luv to trade up some time, but would will remember this model always.

Powerful and reliable bike, indeed!
Mine is a 90'model. Very good looking with dual lights in the front.

I like the power of the engine and lack of maintenance, with the exception of adjusting carburators before and after replacing exaust pipe.
It handles very well after going to Dunlop D207 with small 120/60 in the front and big 180/55 in the rear. I made the forks show one inch up in order to improve handling also. I went to 16 instead of 17 theet on the final transmission to get even more aceleration. Great power increase, without increasing the power: Magic!

Don't like to add oil: up to 1 liter/1000Km (1cc per Km), terrible!!! but only if riding between 7000 and 12000 rpm's, but power is really fantastic here. No oil need and very smooth between 2000 and 7000rpm's.

Don't like such a low seat for riding fast but it's ok for the city.

Only 5 speed gearbox which is ok except when downshifting in the wet.

Overall I am VERY PLEASED after many years. Very Good Buy if you get one secondhand now. Of course there are better/lighter options if new, after 14 years since this one came in 89'.
