I bought my Compact new in 1984 for £1,795. I've still got it although I 've not used it for 5years. It's never leaked and been to south of France and Spain many times. I'm cleaning it up at the moment as I want to use it again. It was broken into in F rance about 10 years ago, back window smashed but I got a new one. Side kitchen window blew away on autoroute in France(catch didn't seem very strong, so when I fitted a new window I put stronger catches on this small window! It tows very fast and never swayed once! I did over 80mph on many occasions! Don't think I'll drive it so fast again!. It's so easy to park in garage but I take off rooflight first as it's easily broken. Children often laugh at it when they pass by in cars. Some people don't realise that the roof goes up! Children no higher than 4ft 8inches can walk in without roof up. Anyone taller has to stoop!

Parking and stabilityexcellent on road.
Bumping my head on piece above door when exiting caravan, so I put up a big sign to warn people! Heavy chassis.

Reviewing a 1984 model.
Basic model GT version has gas box and better wood finish. Wish I'd bought that one as I had to make a gas box for front.

I have had this caravan for ten years now and towed it all over the country, as well as france. I tow it with a Daihatsu Sportrack which tows it very well indeed. I do not use a stabaliser and it sits on the road perfect and has never strayed or shown any signs of doing so. It is a superb caravan. Some how it is not obtrusive and is easily hitched up and you are gone, rather like camping but with a good deal more facilities. Its hard to believe just what this caravan has got:- Double burner & grill, kitchen sink with cold running water, fridge, plenty of cupboard space, bathroom including wash basin with cold water, porta potty, double bed + 2 singles one being a hammock. wardrobe and gas fire. This caravan is no trouble and incourages you to use it (unlike some larger and more cumbersome ones). Oh by the way there is a large awning with it as well.

New owner of a Sprite Compact, pop up roof caravan. Travelling height 6'1" parked height same as a normal caravan. Very airy and light inside. Unusual almond colour which matches our classic Rover 2000TC. Tows very well because of its low profile. I am hoping to hear from other owners of this type of caravan.
