Loved if from the word go! It does everything we wanted a car to do, with an ever expanding family it has proved to be very versatile. We got it 4 years ago and its now done just under 100,000 miles.
loads of space, great to remove seats to all sorts of combinations, good miles to gallon-very economical.
parts can be expensive!

1.9 diesel
Owned for 4 years.
We swapped our 11 year old Espace for a 6 month old 1.9TDi. Fantastic car, loads of space, more than enough power for long journeys, quiet cruiser. We looked at new espace but the SEAT wins hands down for value and looks.
Only downside - big 215 tyres are not cheap to replace!
I have a 2001 Alhambra 1.9 S diesel. If your looking for a seven seater, with room for those teenage kids like mine! this is the one, as it returns on average 41 miles to each and every gallon! It carries loads without strain, and even tows my caravan beautifully. The equipment levels are better than the Galaxy or Sharan, model for model, and cheaper to buy in the first place. Plus the servicing is cheaper than its equivilent. The one to have!
I have a 1.9dl alhambra, bought second hand it is R reg but it shows no wear. I have nothing but praise for it. with our heavy loads of children dog and shopping i have no complaints at all. it is very comfortable and the interior is hardwearing, but it still feels luxury to drive.just the same as a vw sharan,test drive and see!!

Very good car as we have a 97 1.9 tdi model. One problem we did find was the drainage from under the front windscreen blocked. It was only a small twig that caused it to fill up with water & went into the airvent and filled the footwell full of water. The security system then shorted out and set off the alarm. All the windows and doors kept opening and shutting. Had to disconnect the battery to keep it quiet. Needless to say I was fuming but talking to the Seat garage they told me what to do and within 6 hours of drying the car out I was able to use it. Still think its the best car we've ever had - just watch out for rogue twigs!!!!
