I bought my 885cc (T300) carb engined version new in Sept 1997. it was the first 1998 year model in the uk in British Racing Green. I have modified the supension, brakes and changed the wheel rims for wide 17" dia and fitted BT57's. It made the tiger the bike I really wanted. Only minor faults have occured and were easily sorted out. I still love it and haven't yet found a suitable or worthy replacement.
What can I say, bitten by the tiger. The initial reason for the purchase of the Tiger was as a first time rider and being of 6'2" ilk insurance premiums were extortionate for any decent performace bike that was large enough for my frame. Having spent many years on an enduro being dragged around a forest there was some warming resemblance to the feel of the Tiger. Since purchase I have covered some 300 miles and the performance is supurb, the kick and stability off the rear as you launch out of corners is excellent, I have found that all round this bike is very stable. The pick up and all round torgue responce from the 885cc computer controlled fuel injected engine is but a joy and pleasure, needless to say if she were a lass i'd probably want to marry her. 5* well done Triumph.
