When I replaced my Volvo Estate,which was quite a substancial car, with the more economical C3, I wasnt sure id made the right choice.Since I have moved from Merseyside to North Wales, ive had to do considerably more milage, on a very regular basis. Ive now become attached to my little green C3 ,because:- Its never failed to start, no matter what the weather has been. Ive gone on some long journies, and ive never been worried, I wouldnt get, there and back. I always have. Its a nippy little car, and is great on the motorways. The petrol consumption is good in this time of rising costs.
Love the wide view front windscreen.Comfortable to drive, more spacious than it looks.lower rate of road tax
interior trim, not very good, keep having to fix bits back.Body work marks easily.

I think this is a good car. I have had the car since October 2002. Since I live in Malta (small island) I have to change gears quite frequently. This would definitely result in earlier wear and tear. I have also driven this car twice to the North of Italy.
However, I find it strange that with only 49,000km I had to change the air-condition bearing and both tensioners and belt.
Some days ago I had to change the battery.
Moreover now I have to change the wheel bearings. So far its distance have not yet covered 50,000km.
Comfortable to drive.
Curved windscreen pillars which may cause distractions when driving. Early wear and tear.
Good car for the money. Only downpoints - gear changing seems noisy-the gear knob makes a strange noise when changing gear - and part of the interior is loose - plastic under the steering wheel which makes a rattling noise - Reg Vardy Citroen,Banbury claimed to have fixed it - but had not touched it - and have not contacted me since about the part that they said they'd order for me. In short - good on sales in selling the car, but poor on aftersales !
In the exactly one year I have had my C3 diesel (top of range model), the garage has had it four times, for a total of over a month, and has put more kilometres on it than I have. They can't figure out what's wrong with it. Could I invite all those with similar problems to contact me so that we can make a joint complaint to Citroen, demanding working cars for our money?

i know why i brought this car it looks good and its very quick for a diesel but id only put 10 miles on it when it broke down some valve on the engine was faulty there re no of rattles inside the car so it will be going back to the dealer again bar that theres alot to be happy about its a good looking car and there is plenty of standard kit only if the build was a touch better

Nice looking car, but unreliable. Central locking is a big problem. You can only lock all doors remotely, if that fails which it frequently does you have to fiddle about with pesky catches on the edges of the doors to lock them, and you can't even lock the boot manually!

I bought this car in September 03 New. The car is great BUT the after sales is poor the car is 4 months old now It has been in the garage more time than it has been in my garage:Its been in the Garage 16 days upto press. (1)It cam with dents in the tail gate. (2)The cruse control does not work properly. (3)When you move of nothing happends. (4)The gear change is rough. (5)The leather seats are disintergrating. (6)The passager foot well is full of water. (7)The brakes bind. All these jobs have been looked at by the dealer they still have not fix them yet.

The car has been recalled twice and now the Engine Management System has fallen over - Not a patch on the Xsara I previously owned for 3 years without problem
