An absolutely fantastic piece of machinary. I have a '86 NC21 and shes a total beauty. Painted in the 'Smokin Joe's' racing colors and for her age i can say she is stunning.
A brilliant motorbike for when you have passed your test (She is my 3rd after passing my test) very reliable and i have had countless amounts of admiring comments along with the few 'your a bird...thats your bike? :O!', sound, style and conditon comments..!
The link to http://www.v-four.freeserve.co.uk/vfr400.htm in one of the reviews is out of date. The updated link for my NC30 and NC35 is linked below. Despite owning & riding a Blade, 750s and 1000s afterwards, the NC30 is still my favourite all-time bike for pure enjoyment. I rode it year-round and it never missed a beat.
Build quality, reliability, that V4 engine, handling, looks...
Close gear ratios (I was struggling to put something in this part)

IVE OWNED MY VFR 400 FOR HALF A YR NOW AND IVE NEVER HAD SUCH A TEAD TURNER B4, COS OF THE WAY IT LOOKS AND COS OF THAT LOVELLY ENGINE NOISE. MY MATE OWNES THE SAME BIKE AND WE RECENTLY WENT FOR A 400 MILE RUN UP THE HIGHLANDS AND NEITHER OF THEM MISSED A BEAT. SPORTSWISE THIS BIKE IS A VERY IMPRESSIVE ALLROUNDER IN ANY WEATHER. GET ONE OF THESE AND YULE NOT ONLY LOVE IT TO BITS BUT WILL BE TAKING PART IN AN AMAZING PIECE OF HONDA HISTORY.
i have a vfr 400 nc 30 its the 3rd bike iv had, and the best one. you need to stop after 150 miles for a long rest wrist do hurt. but some one always whonts to talk about the bike. it gose like stink and will go at 90 mph all day nad more if you dear iv spoken to pepole that have done 130 on them. if you have just passed your test and whont a sports bike get one. the still look good in a line of bikes no matter there cc
I had a beautiful NC30, all original and in stunning condition (Blk/Svlr/Red). Until an old twat decided to pull out infront of me writing off my pride and joy (Yes, I will get revenge), it was an absolute stunner. Everyone, I mean everyone would turn and stare as you tick along at around 4500revs, the sweet sound of the cam chain and slight popping of the exhaust would just simply amaze bikers and non bikers. Absolutley gutted at what has just happened, but I am definatley getting another one. The only downfall maybe with these pups is that they are starting to get old now, so more things to go wrong, but any money spent on putting them right is well worth it. Parts are suprisingly easy to get hold of, any breaker will have the part you are after, just maybe a bit costly. Go on, you know you want one...
My NC is for sale, it is a write off, but has just had a full service and runs smoothly. There is only cosmetic damage. If you are interested, £800 as it is, all totally straight. Please email for more info and [Log in to view email]

I have the Rocket and I F***ing love it!! I dont think you will find another bike which will make you grin so easily you get a lot of bike for you money, unfortunately me and the bike had a disagreement with a car and I went for a superman and while skidding I watch the gem skid down the road as well I cried like a baby I can tell you. But me baby took the damage like a tank when any other bike would have been unrepairable so I gave it a month and nearly 2k in repairs most being the fairing (1,400) and other Genuine Honda parts she is back on the road, thats how much I love the bike I would spend nearly the price I paid for it to repair it. If you were looking for a sports bike with the build quality to last years the performance to make you grin even when you think about riding it and cheap insurance for a sports bike (group 14) I would definitely recommend the Honda VFR400 NC30
My Model:
Honda VFR400R 3L NC30 Red Black Siver 1991 (H reg) Paid 2,495 from a dealer
I am the proud owner of a Honda VFR400, 'What a bike', The acceleration I achieve around my garden driveway (doing circles - not yet passed test) is amazing. After my psychological theoropy finishes I will pass my test and cruise round sunny Newport.

I own a VFRNC30 and I have to say it's great fun. My boyfriend Shane thinks he is going to take it out but he cant ride a bmx let alone a flying machine. Because the colours are so special I let him polish it, and my helmet, on weekends. Took him on the back of it the other day and when I hit a few tight corners he began to cry. Never mind, guess I'll just have fun on my own.

Own an imported NC30 painted in Smokin Joes colors. On the day I picked it up took it for a spin and could not stop grinning. This is my first bike and I had decided I wanted one of these. Found this one in mint condition with 18k on the clock. Acceleration is fantastic and is more than enough for a year or two after passing your test. Handling is even better and really makes you feel like you know what your doing and gives you a huge boost in confidence. Maintinance is no real problem as the bike is built to a very high standard and servicing is easy when done by a proper garage.

Bought a k reg for £1800. 15K miles. Looked about for ages and found a real minter. Makes your wrists ache a little around town, but other than that the best bike I've ever ridden. BUY ONE!

i got a little black and silver nc30 from my man for my 25th birthday and haven't looked back. she is my first bike and looks absolutely trick, despite going into her 9th year! easy to ride, she has given me much (much needed!) confidence. Parts are hard to come by, cos i live in south africa, but on the bright side, we have all year round riding weather so i get to nail it every weekend. the bike is still pretty standard except for the paint job, but 2003 will see her kitted out with a new can, jet modification and a dynotune. then i'm going out to play with the big boys!!
