had a problem with rev cut-out up to 3000 revs, changed fuel filter problem solved.
make sure you allow engine to run for a few minutes on start_up and after a run to protect turbo/intercooler.
possible timing chain tensioner requiring replacement.

Well built, good value 4x4. Can do everything a Freelander does but more roomy, costs less and much more reliable.

2.2l turbo diesel a bit noisy at start up but very economical. Six-speed transmission makes the best use of its pulling power.

Cabin design takes a bit of getting used to as instrument binnacle is in the centre but its something you take to surprisingly quickly.

Four wheel drive system is push button and very easy to use and road manners very good for a car of its size and bulk.

Great all-round family car.

comfy seats and plenty of safety features
Tows OK
Big sunroof is good
Nice pedals on Sport
Handbrake not very substantial
Seats difficult to clean if sand gets on them, gets into the fabric
Diesel engine clattery on slight acceleration
Seat belt marks door trim
Passenger seat belt knocks on door when no passenger wearing it
Reliability is good, never had to repair anything yet
Brake dust covers wheels very quick

Will have to come up with damage limit
ations for trim protection. Plastic not tough enough for real abuse in an SUV.
A beautiful motorway drive and practical
apart from the miniscule door pockets.
Why no courtesy lights when opening the
front doors?

Main problem is with ECU 5 days to diagnose and then 5 days to get parts.
Always flat spot at 2300 its taken to 30,ooo miles to find the problem-over fuel on 1 cylinder.
Apart from that its fine and nice to drive
