I've owned a Super Four for two years now. This is my first "larger" bike and is used most days on both commuter and leisure runs. Always reliable which is great for me being non-mechanical. Very economical for its engine size and fast acceleration in town. Probably not quite powerful enough for extended motorway trips.
My only niggle - it was difficult finding a top box to fit; eventually the GIVI universal worked, but only with much ingenuity on the part of the fitter!
All round nice machine.

I've always liked these bikes but can't get an old, well cared for, one anywhere for under £1000 and there are some well overpriced ones out there sadly mostly to e found in dealerships. If you see any old ones for a decent enough price give me an email at [Log in to view email] (thanks)

In reading my ratings, take them with a pinch of salt: this is my first bike, and the only thing I have to compare it to are the Kawasaki ER-5 I used at the learners' school - that said, as a newbie, I'm completely happy with the CB1 (CB400 SF (super four)). The tranmission from the in-line four is silky smooth in comparison to the ER-5, and is much more responsive. It's fast enough for me at the moment, and most importantly for me as a commuter who know's absolutely nothing about the mechanics, it starts first time every time. Great first bike.
